Nick needs to take a road trip to the Saginaw sometime. You never know what you will catch here. Drum & Channel Catfish are easy to catch at certain times of year & get big.

Had a channel cat bite thrice myself, he broke off twice and the third was the charm WITH BOTH MY OTHER HOOKS IN HIS MOUTH!! Voracious shark cat!!! I have shared this story before, but left out that I used cut bait after watching a young fisherman in MI do the same and then seeing the style of baiting here on 618🎣

Having retired from water/wastewater treatment plant operations, I recognize the effluent being discharged from a WWTP anywhere. In most cases its cleaner than the waters (receiving streams) its discharged into.

Try loosening your drag so the fish can run and tighten it when you pick up the rod. The fish might not have had enough time to pick up and really get the bait into its mouth for a good hookset

When you find those spillways on Google Earth, what exactly do you put in for information, guess I could even go as far to ask how do you do all that? You seem to go to a lot of the places that I would love to go to but it's just not like that where I live in northern Florida. There are some cool places, but however you get directed to go to spillways, is really neat! Keep up the good programs bud, I'm learning a lot from you. God bless!

I was just recently at this fishing spot because it is right by where I work. I stayed for a couple hours, saw lots of big fish, had a couple decent bites, but in the end couldn't land anything, and about killed myself trying to get all my gear back up the hill. I would like to go back, but I think it would be easiest to launch a kayak off of the boat ramp just upstream and paddle down.
