When Al rolled into a restaurant with his people in his leather coast whether it was in Martinez or Oakland it was as if Moses arrived and the seas parted. I saw it. Believe. The legend and reality of Al Davis will never die. We will never see his likes again. RIP

sports needs villains. It's too vanilla today.

Such a villain, that he ran his own team into the ground with his senile decisions. I'm probably the only member of the Raider Nation that is glad he's dead. Yes, he built the team and made it great. But, he also screwed over Marcus. One of our best players ever and let him wear red. Now that Gruden is back, I'm convinced that his hair brained son with the ridiculous haircut actually wants to go to a new city as world champions. I hate the move to Vegas, but I'm all for winning. And we'll be doing plenty of that.

I was 21 years old when at the 2008 Home Opener against Denver on MNF and I saw a crowd of people between the Coliseum and Oracle. I walked over to see what was happening and there he was in all his glory, Al Davis. The crowd parted like the Red Sea and as he walked by me I shouted, “God Bless you Mr. Davis! God bless you Al!” And what did The Godfather do? He stopped right in his tracks and said, “Thank you. Young man, God has blessed Al Davis enough.” Watching this gets me misty eyed. I love my Raiders and it pains me to see them being drug through the mud right now. I hope and pray that our day of vengeance will come soon and once again they will be the bully on the block winning games and Super Bowls. And at that point all will be right with the world again

I’m from New Mexico, 63 years old, always been a Raiders fan. I love my Raiders. Hendricks, Stabler, Branch, Matuzac, Shell, Blanda, Hayes, Plunkett, Tatum, Casper, Villapiano, Upshaw, Christianson, Atkinson, Otto, Tom Flores, the list goes on but I always had a very special place in my heart for Al Davis and John Madden . I pray that the Good Lord lets me see my Raiders win one more Super Bowl before this world is done with me. Take what you want not what they give you. Dominate, intimidate, hit harder than anyone else in the league, take the ball away more than anyone, sack more than anyone, WIN MORE THAN ANYONE!!! Thank you for ALL the memories my beloved Raiders. Magnificent words from a man unequalled in this world. Thank you Mr. Davis, I sure miss you sir.

love him or hate him. the man knew football. one of the reasons i believe the raiders are not very good anymore. AL IS NOT HERE. he was the pride and poise of the raiders. i have been a fan since their inception in 1960. i lived only a couple of blocks where the coliseum was built. went to the first home game at the coliseum in 1966. watched them at kezar, watched them in candlestick park, watched them in frank youell field. i love the raiders and i truly believe they will have their time again. their no longer the oakland raiders. but now they have a home that they have long deserved. and it is beautiful. i wish they were still in oakland. but once again the good old politicians of oakland, dropped the ball for a second time. the raiders are more than a football team to oakland fans. they are and always will be FAMILY. i grew up a raiders fan, my children grew up as raiders fans. my grandchildren grew up raiders fans. and now my great grandchild is a raiders fan. when i am gone and go to heaven. i will get to hang with the likes of, stabler, blanda, upshaw, matuzak, AL, tatum, and so many other raider greats. my god. who could ask for more. and when the raiders get back to the superbowl. alive or dead. I WILL BE WATCHING.
