A crazy Ukrainian channel called Kreosan made a microwave gun with three magnetrons, a tin can, and a taser...But does it actually work, or was the video just fake news?

perhaps he was scared of trying to power 3 microwaves at the same time with little to no safe equipment, idk, just a thought that came tom my mind Jokes apart, the main goal of his video was to show the other video was fake due to the lack of power supply, not to try anything real crazy, as he knew it wouldn't work

Why don't you have a HUUUUGE array of capacitors in series that's charged fully then pulse all of that power into the magnetron. Will that replicate the EMP needed? EMP is just a pulse after all. No need to make a continuous stream of microwaves.

i have a portable emp, it's not magic, you just need to have some supercapacitors in series and discharge more voltage than the original setup, my setup uses 6kv +- 5A pulses with a lot of low-emi 1mf 16v capacitors from motherboards, i've tested them to 10% tolerance with my capacimeter before the assembly.

I am curious, as you probably tried this already, but did you try switching the tazer contacts around as it outputs most of the energy as a pulse and polarity matters for the magnetron (negative on the filament). Also make sure the filament voltage stays within spec while on and does not drop too much.

Some important details mentioned in that Ukrainian video that you've missed: There is a certain resonant proportion between the magentrons and the dimentions of the cone+tin can. They purposefully refused to explain that in details to prevent kids from trying this at home. The taser has been opened, it's power has been increased, supercaps have been added. --- Even if you don't speak Russian you can enable the subtitles. Those translations turned out to be quite accurate. Except for the term "militairy grade capacitors", which should have been translated as "heavy duty" or "skookum" or something along those lines. "boyewoy"=ready for battle, not necessarily militairy application.

The equations for circular and rectangular wave-guides, as well as various feed-horns, are very well know. Your electronics text would have to be published before 1910 or so to not have this stuff. And really, there is nothing on either of these devices that looks anything like the proper dimensions for the wavelength of the 2.45 Ghz magnetrons. There are no secret ratios between components.

I think he deliberately made the cone out of cardboard too wide and omitted the capacators, maybe misaligned the magnatrons so the experiment would fail. He seems very biased against this and i think his goal was complete debunk whether it did or didnt work.

Honestly speaking, those Russians would be dead if their device worked as they claimed, I have a EE buddy who back in college took a microwave magnetron and coupled it to a proper microwave waveguide and tried to make popcorn while the corn was still on the stalk in a field. A few birds flew into the beam while it was powered up, and they were dead before they hit the ground due to about 1KW of microwaves cooking their brains. After that we decided we probably shouldn't be operating high power microwave devices without ourselves sitting in a proper faraday cage.

Tldr; The power grid is in protective sections, so you cannot get enough current back to the generators to break them. The power grid is separated in protective zones to keep a short in a house somewhere from frying the generators. For instance, the breakers in your house count as a zone, and there's breakers, fuses and monitoring devices/protective equipment protecting the individual zones. So it's pretty much impossible to do.

It appears that you were not rectifying the high voltage from the stun gun, so you are supplying AC to the cathode. The tube wants to see DC. Use the diode hanging off the capacitor as a half-wave rectifier. You may need to use a few in series as your stungun may supply more voltage than one diode can handle (I believe about 6 KV). The diode and capacitor normally act as a rectifier and voltage doubler, but you are using the capcitor in parallel and the diode not at all, so they don't do either of those things here in your circuit. You are correct in that the stun is unable to source much current to the magnetron. So this raises the question... why are you using a stun gun instead of simply using the microwave oven transformer, capacitor, and diode arranged as intended in the original donor microwave oven? Note that even with AC you will get some activity as the tube itself tends to rectify the high voltage.

Pretty much a system where it takes so many thousands of a specific resource dedicated to an individual bot, and you're limited to buying 100 a day for a very large amount of silver or getting a random amount for a random bot from a loot box... You can spend in-game currency, but it'll take you several *YEARS* (Someone did the math) to get, or ~ 300 high tier loot boxes (on average)

Chaining emitters requires synchronizing them, otherwise they just interfere with each other. The tube also has to be a specific size relative to the wave length, and I think for microwaves it's a straight tube rather than a cone shape. I've seen two designs for chaining emitters. One used a tiny reflector in front of each emitter that sent waves back to the next emitter, causing them to synchronize. The other used a timed signal for the pulses to account for delay between emitters. Not sure how well either method works, but it's never done in a commercial product, so that might be a clue to their effectiveness.

Translation of the very beginning of the original video: "(Guy in robe:) Source of microwaves are magnetrons from microwave ovens. It's powered with high voltage from the stun gun. The secret of far effect distance is in correct match of Magnetrons and horn antenna. (Other guy:) Which was hard to get. (Guy in robe again:) There is used a powerful stun gun with amplified supply, and 'military' capacitors. ('military' means they powerful-as-f**k, in general they significantly outperforms usual capacitors)" You didn't match the magnetrons with antenna, aren't ya? Also 30kV might not be enough, Kreosan have amplified their stun gun. So your "mythbusting" has some significant flaws.

If the original video was fake, then they would have faked the camera glitching at considerable range, without the horn pointed directly at it. I'm not sure. Since he was able to replicate *some* of the results without knowing the exact details of the Ukrainian video, that leads me to think that the original video wasn't fake, or at least not completely fake.

Back in '05 I made one of these, still using 3 magnetrons, but I used the transformers, too. I ran the whole system off of some lead-acid batteries and an inverter in the backpack. It was able to reset/fry door access panels and car computers. The biggest thing I did was blow up a laptop (battery lit off). I didn't use the Stun Gun, though, that's a weird way to get lots of power at high voltage... it just puts out high voltage.

I am from Russia, and I saw the original video, these guys saying adout synchronization of magnetrons and calculation of the antenna (they said that they did it for a long time). I know a little about this, and I think that this can be achieved (you need some calculation like: 3g-aerial.biz/onlajn-raschety/raschety-antenn/horn-antenna-calculator ). At the expense of explosions - it was old Soviet capacitors, they showed how they blow up in another KREOSAN video. P.S. sorry for my laguage, я довольно плохо знаю английский

Wouldn't it make more sense to mount them as parallels to the firing direction as possible to avoid loss of power from bouncing around inside the can before making it out the cone? I get that it did project at least a little bit, but I'm pretty sure this is a terribly inefficient design even while ignoring the power setup being intentionally underpowered with that taser for safety.
