In a way Burnout become one with NFS and NFS is never what made it great ever.
@dr.sivavignesh6648 ай бұрын
@@zef9151 the combination was never going to work however you look at it. It's because of the licensing issues with real world cars. Nfs cannot exist without real world cars and burnout cannot exist with them. Burnout fans wants insane soft body crashes and car destruction which can only be toned down to the very minimal in a nfs game. EA had two beloved franchises and they burned both. Nfs will definitely improve when they stop listening to influencers like black pantha ( also EA executives trying to impose loot boxes ) who say grinding is an essential part of nfs. Unbound is a good game turned bad by awful grind in the first ingame 2 weeks and total lack of post game singleplayer content. They separated car progression in both sp and mp and made mp unplayable. Worst thing about heat was initiating the high heat races. High heat races were an awesome concept but the amount of bullshit you had to do to start that event was pure grind. ( the challenge was already there winning the difficult event and getting the part back to the safehouse , so why the unnecessary padding ?). Payback had awful speed card progression that had " grind " written all over it. " grinding " is almost the cause for the bad nfs games in recent years. It had already been proven that people can make great games without having to grind.

One of the things that the old NFS games had gotten so well for the most part. The maps: The thing with NFS Underground 2, Most Wanted 05, and Carbon was that there was a lot of identity packed into their maps with recognizable landmarks, locations, and districts while they still felt URBAN which has been lacking in Payback, Heat, and Unbound, 2015 got this theme right but its locations weren’t very distinctive. I really am getting tired of 20-25% of the maps only being Urban environments. It wants to have the openness of NFS Rivals with a portion for those Most Wanted and U2 play types. Stop trying to please both because you don’t end up becoming either. Don’t be an open world racer, be a free roam racer like in the past! And fine tune your handling models for those street environments! Else you tend to get vibes of ohh it’s Forza but Americanized outside of that 25% of the map. GO ALL URBAN and be DISTINCTIVE.

So I actually learned something about unbounds drifting. If you use the brake to drift and hold for a second or two before going into the drift letting yourself slow a bit it gets rid of the front tires losing grip. This was implemented because when drifting was first discover and you use the tap brake it goes off of the same principles they did back then. Which is the front losing grip due to the brake force and the rear kicking out with grip.

Despite 2015 being incredibly mid, i found it much more enjoyable than payback, heat, and ESPECIALLY unbound...im sorry, HELLBOUND. 2015 imo felt much more grounded and if im honest, to me...more realistic story wise than the other 3 recent entries. Payback, heat, and hellbound all suffer from an extremely over the top story, which would've been fine if i was younger...but i would've much rather simplicity...2015 felt like it was just you and some friends up to some mischief. Theres also the performance parts menu system that i will forever defend...2015 has the best performance parts customization. Everything from payback onward felt way too simplified. 2015 even allowed you to change turbo sounds, depending on what turbo you chose, which is very realistic. We dont have stuff like that in the recent entries.

Unbound needed more personality and stakes from the other racers. Fleshing out a rival crew and giving us more personal races against competent AI would have been amazing. I want an updated NFS Carbon with Unbound driving mechanics. Make a new map or hell, use your suggestion for curated tracks and cut the open world so that each have more individuality. Raise the stakes so that crashing other racers out is more permanent like the canyon duels and add competent police randomly to the races to add even more tension to already high stakes. Make it so that wrecking cars of a rival crew ups the aggression of that faction. Adds personality, risk, and reward for racing cleanly or dirty. One of your friends might be a notorious serial killer in a car that people hate and your other friend might be a beloved street racing icon that people will respect in the overtakes and lines. Hell Grid 2 Legends had more personality in their pro scene racers with next to no dialogue in the race simply based off the rival system. A racer that I may have spun out on a bad attack will drive much more defensively (and aggressively) against me and it just feels more engaging. Carbon did it best with the rival factions I think. It was campy and goofy, but each head tool was effective at establishing a different type of car culture and were just arrogant enough to make it satisfying to crush anyone from their crew until it was clear that you were better than their whole damn crew and it was always satisfying to win the duels against them and take their turf. With better graphics, handling and more money to spend on development you’d think that we would get amazing titles just remastering the old games but no. And now that I think about it, Carbon had a good open world with shortcuts and AI that would help you in races by showing you these shortcuts when you were struggling, adding in more character to your supporting cast and the map. It really felt like you were meeting racers from the local scene who could give you an edge against the competition but it was still up to you to win and put these guys to work. It had the curated high intensity canyon maps that you couldn’t access from the main map because it was tailor made for a certain experience. Most Wanted was amazing, but IMO nothing has come close to the fun I had in Carbon Canyon and I think that if Criterion just made a spiritual sequel or remake (NOT a remaster) it would be a great game.
@arandominternetperson44628 ай бұрын
I agree with most of what u said about Unbound. But I have to disagree on the handling being "the best in a decade". My experience with Unbound was and still is, how my cars bounce all over the road like Super Mario on his way to defeat Bowser Grip cars all UNDERSTEER a ton (even the fricking Lotus Exige S) Sometimes my car's rear wheels would randomly lose all grip and spin me 180 degrees As for the drifting, you need the S14, and All Drift parts, and you still have barely any control over the thing. 1:17:25 It's everything but predictable.

I wouldn't be surprise if In NFS 2011 The RUN , the girl whom you give the money and split would betray you and last boss is her. Like any need for speed , be it underground , most wanted , carbon , payback , undercover. There is all about it , and it's interesting to talk about but I think I'm bored of NFS story , NFS payback is awesome but I really don't want to know the story anymore . Same with unbound or heat , they might be nice , but it don't feel much better anymore. While Racing Games don't need much story , NFS is getting boring on story and just a game worth deleting those Cutscene files for less turd files that take space on hard drive ( like payback was 40GB around )

NFS 2015: a half-baked reboot that no one wanted. Its the weakest out of the NFS franchise. It has some good parts that could've been done better later. The defenition of "literally no one asked for this." NFS Payback: Great game. If Payback had some changes to stuff like upgrades, then it could be one of the best NFS games of all time. Its what I call "the actual reboot." NFS Heat: Great game, but not the best time to release the game. I love this game. Its lots of fun, just a shame it... "was abandoned" too early. But hey, at least there are mods like heat unite mod to make the game feel fresh. NFS Unbound: Let the game cook. But for now, it feels lacking. Heat feels more fresh (for now) than unbound. (as of march 2024.) My wrong opinion: NFS seems to be going on a downhill direction. And I hope we don't get another undercover type game.

Let us just say I think NFS is long overdue the Axe! the last Good one, for me, was Hot Pursuit 2010 (so Pre "Second/Ghost Tuner Era"), and even then that took some time to grow on Me, I love it now, but was not all that fond of it at first. Rivals could have been good had the Police A.S, (Artificial Stupidity) not been so utterly Psychotic in its Over-Aggression as to leave the "Racer" Campaign borderline Unplayable, and had it featured a Functioning Pause Menu (how Incompetent has a Studio got to be to not be able to make a Functional Pause Menu?), but, not to be. Given that, for Me, Hot Pursuit 2010 was not only the last Good NFS Game, but also the First Good NFS Game since Hot Pursuit 2 in 2001 (Pre First/Black Box Tuner Era).... I think the Series is at least 20 Years overdue the Axe and the Sooner EA just gives up on it due to its ever dwindling sales and the Increasing issues that they are having getting Car companies to agree to even appear in NFS Now, the better. I am just not a Fan of the Underground/Tuner Direction, I used to be! oh yes, I used to be a fan of it.. when I was a very silly teenager going through the "Tuners R Cool" Phase, but I outgrew it quite some time ago and now.. well.. I can see just how Bad (very) Underground and all of them actually were as NFS Games.. they were awful, the Series, IMO, looking back, really should have been Axed after Underground 1 Betrayed everything that NFS should be and, basically, Ruined the Franchise for anyone outside of that "Tuners R Cool" Period that we all seem to go through between the Ages of 12 and 15... and that Train Sailed a long time ago!

Is there a new NFS coming out this year?
@MobDKGr4 ай бұрын
Nope. Since New Criterion devs are currently a small skeleton crew which are focused on NFS Unbound updates (that's because the rest of the devs were moved to help DICE with the next Battlefield game. EA already did that once with Battlefield 2042 in 2021 and it was a massive disaster. Which resulted to a lack of development time for Unbound meaning it released in an unfinished state.), a new NFS game wouldn't come out before a certain period like between 2 to 4 years or more. Anyway, the current state of NFS needs a massive overhaul in all areas from scratch since it become stale with too much inconsistencies and are too bland. The 4 last NFS are the perfect example of what they should never repeat again. Also, the replayability has dropped drastically. What the devs should do is take all the genius gameplay mechanics of all NFS games and combine them into 1 game. Also, the handling physics which is the Number 1 criteria needs to reworked from the ground up. The map design should also fit with the handling physics like how it happened with the Black Box titles as well as all NFS HP games. Moreover, they should ditch the Open World entirely IF the handling physics doesn't fit the map. Or add it as a gameplay feature. Level Select NFS games needs to comeback. Urban biomes became too repetitive since it's been a decade that it never improved. If the NFS devs pick a style, they should fully commit to their idea instead of doing half the work. To conclude, NFS devs should stop trying to please every NFS audience since it will never work. By doing so, they end up pleasing no one.

Rivals pursuit system and tech with racer cop dynamic , nfs 2015 visuals , payback handling and event variety , heat’s day night system progression, unbound’s graphics , body kit , customisation and feel for the cars, carbon’s canyon duals , mostwanted’s milestone achievement collectibles and impound system , nfs run’s set piece sections ….. that would make the best nfs game IMO

I understand that the fan base of NFS is largely divided into two, and I would like to respect the other person's opinion as much as possible. But as SteamDB statistics show us, so far Unbound is falling way short of Heat. This video compliments Unbound's handling but I'm not. Pro gamers may prefer Unbound, but most users are casual users (like me). 😅

If they fix cars handling make it like Need for speed underground 2 and not slide like crazy at around 130 mph instead you know turn a corner like Ug2 it does not have to be highly realistic just balance a arcade and realism instead of full on mario kart physics. More involvement in the city bright side gritty side, full on raceday festival like prostreet. Like example midnight club series cars handling is not realistic not arcade just a mix of both and it was perfect! Heck! Need for speed prostreet handling physics was ok.

I think you should have included your hot pursuit, the run, mw 2012, and rivals critiques. you have already most of the work for them so why are they gone? was this a conscience decision or a mistake? please let me know.
@UltraViolet_Moses8 ай бұрын
Those games are not part of the Need For Speed ghost Tuner era, so they don’t serve a place here. I’m also remaking the hot pursuit video to be a lot longer and higher quality as it’s aged poorly, and may post another supercut just focusing on the need for speed supercar era

Obvious hater. There was one thing the NFS fanbase wanted in 2015 and that was a Underground-style reboot. And thats exactly what they got. Not only with 2015 but also with Heat and Unbound. The only issue was this: the crowd that played Underground is now 40 years old, and the crowd invested in real life car culture which the games cater to is between 16-25. I think the biggest problem with NFS is the bitching oldheads still lingering around who will always complain and never be satified with each and every new NFS installment because its not literally underground or most wanted.
@zzmrpicklezz7988 ай бұрын
I don't think ditching the open world formula would end well, no matter how well they implement it. Unless it's some kind of direct sequel to Pro Street, the community would just complain again. No matter what, people tend to complain all the time nowadays.

Looking at NFS If they didnt add the online only thing at 2015 then It could have been better. After 2015 EA got cheap & would not feature the supra mkIV along the Skyline GTR R34. Curse you EA... Payback without the gambling & micro transactions would have fared better. Heat feels like a remake of 2f2f but with a crooked doughnut muncher of a cop instead of a drug lord. the effects in unbound being cartoonish feels worse than the comic book cutscenes from u2. They might as well have re-done u2 & recycled the comic book cutscene thing.

Biggest issue is giving wayyyyy to much traffic, limiting cars to 235mph and damage to your car.. actually since 2010 oh and.. F**k the run
@dandrelowery37148 ай бұрын
Plus, when unlocking the speed limiter from 235 to 250+ from the community mods. The game runs fine with that top speed but for some reason it's likely to do with time constraints on balancing every vehicle in the game. Also, the physics engine is still not properly optimized making vehicles highly unstable if you simply touch the sidewalk with one or two wheels the vehicle goes flying for no reason. Frostbite engine is not even properly built for everything, and its development is mainly mismanaged and understaffed.
