You talked about finding joy in unexpected places and that is my story with Angelina, an random Facebook recommended a video of a little girl in a flower crown singing Bag Bang. i was curious, so I clicked pn it expecting the typical cute little girl singing a song. What I witnessed that day literally changed my life and as I followed through with all the videos she has, I began to realize that this was much more than a little girl singing - it was the early days of a musical genius. Her voice, does things to me that I can't explain and my days have been filled with her music for 4 years now. The maturity of her voice and emotional expression is simply heart-rending. If I understood you correctly, you have seen most of Angelina's performances, and they moved you to become a reactor. If this is truly just the beginning of your reactions, I hope to see many more. I fell in love with Angelina in AGT Champions in January, and have since gone back and heard everything in her repertoire. I'm 75, a widower who has been forcefully separated from my 3 granddaughters by the pandemic and the fact that I have several of the underlying health conditions that make it necessary to be very careful. I honestly believe that I might have gone crazy without the musical medicine I receive from Angelina daily, often multiple doses. I'm glad you aren't monetizing your reactions, as I think that will permit you to be somewhat less careful with copyright restrictions. I subscribed just to make sure I am notified by your future reactions, particularly of Angelina. I don't mind you exploring other artists. I have recently fallen down the rabbit hole with Home Free, and Pentatonix. The human voice can be such an amazing instrument.

Hi Nate. You have a new subscriber but BEWARE! This is a long comment. I hope you have the patience to read to the end. Thank you for discovering and reacting my favourite singer. I like your philosophy on life. You have chosen the right singer if you wish to bring peace and joy and a certain amount of reflection into your life. Angelina will provide you with every emotion a human being is able to experience time and time again, through her remarkable talent of being able to convey these emotions through her voice. Although I appreciate your approach in this your first essay into Angelina's talent, if I had been a first time discovery of her, I would have felt dissatisfied. It was rather like commencing a sumptuous meal and then having it snatched away before one gets a chance to savour its full delight. I do hope that you will feature each of these songs in turn for reaction at some future date. My introduction to Angelina was on her first appearance at Norway's Got Talent and I didn't expect much from a 7-year-old. Just a cute little girl, all nervous, rushing the song in parts, hesitating and then stumbling over or forgetting her words and generally acting her age and doing her best to get through a childish song like "Twinkle, twinkle little star". What did I see? Well, it was a seven-year-old child, with wild hair and gaps in her mouth, where there once were baby teeth. And that was when the normal perception ended and things turned upside down. She confidently answered the questions put to her by a Judge. Declared she was going to sing a song by the legendary Billie Holiday. Gestured off-stage for the technician to start the music and then started singing. The body of the 7-year-old was still there but the voice wasn't. Or was it? I was surprised then and that surprise is still with me, some six years later. I have followed her career since I saw that first video on KZbin and in the six years she has been singing publicly she has mastered many musical genres, including Blues, Country, Disco, Jazz,Pop, R&B and Soul, EDM and Rock and covered songs first performed by many famous singers, like Adele, Whitney Houston, Nancy and Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Lana del Ray, Gloria Gaynor, Andy Williams, Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong and many others. What is more extraordinary is that she takes ownership of every song she sings while still paying respect to the original. You will notice that she never goes into unnecessary theatrics. Never sings those high or low notes unless they are absolutely necessary. Never projects herself in any performance which says "look how good I am". She just sings the song as she feels it is meant to be sung. And I'll add an even more extraordinary item for you to consider, to show how unique she is. She has the innate ability not only to sing a song as emotionally as the song deserves but to be able to communicate those same emotions to the listener. As I have noted above, I have been following her career a long time and have listened to every interview she has given and every documentary about her and every performance she has ever given. What stands out for me is how a very shy and humble girl in her normal life, can be transformed into the perfect vehicle for the song she has chosen to sing, once she starts to sing. Although the gift of singing and all her performances appear to be effortless, Angelina works very hard to ensure that the one she is going to record reflects what she sees as the correct way to meld both lyrics and melody. I have a severe chronic condition and am in bed about 16 hours a day. Angelina, and a small handful of others, has been my balm of great comfort and inspiration to keep going and brings me great joy everyday. Part of my day is to see who Angelina and Dimash freaked out today😆 when people mired in ordinary pop are confronted with such incredible talent for the first time you can actually see their body language and micro expressions try to make sense of it all. Its very interesting and reassuring that such craft and quality are not gone. So many posts about people not enjoying the pablum so much anymore and that they feel alive and energized.

I discovered her at the beginning of 2020 then covid appeared by March it arrived in my state my husband was already in a care facility. Lockdown and locked out by those you love is not something anyone can express in words. I lost my husband of 46 years without ever being able to touch or hold him again. I was having a really hard day today but your video (Both Angelina and talk about perception of truth) helped me breath and stop the negative thought's. I have struggled with mental health from a very young age and finally gave up on med's and therapy and gave in to Drug Addiction! Fast forward 25yrs and I chose life over death and decided on Recovery and went into treatment (for addiction and mental health)! I celebrated 5yrs of Mental Heath and Addiction Recovery this year! The more I talk to a therapists the more I have realized how destructive and wrong my belief's have been!!! Living in my head had warped my belief's because I had no one to trust with my thought's!!! I have learned the truth about my thought's and question them now when I'm depressed! Angelina lift's my spirit's with her talent of making everything stop but her wonderful expression's of her music that help me live in the moment!!!! Beautiful thoughts, "the truth will bring you happiness". In that sense, Angelina is the ultimate truth, bacause nothing brings me more joy and peace of mind than listening to her singing. That passage with the dog reminded me of *_Bulgakov's_* novel, but I guess you meant it more as a metaphor. It's easy to fall in to the trap of being what others expect of us instead of being who we really are. But being truthful to ones own self doesn't mean one should ignore others expectations. We still need to respect the people with whom we interact and stay humble and friendly. I guess that one of the reasons so many of us feel this relaxation whenever Angelina's voice reaches our ears, because her humble being and dedication to be what she really is, an outstanding vocalist and an amazing musician, reaches much deeper in to us than just to our conscious minds.

That was an awesome compilation of Angelina, really enjoyed that and yes, I agree with you that Angelina is on her way to being one of the greatest singers this world has ever known. Louis Armstrong (Satchmo) was my first musical memory, (still love listening to him sing and play his magic trumpet) then Elvis came along, then the Beatles. Was very fortunate to grow up in the fifties and sixties and of course the seventies and got to experience all sorts of great music, but I’ve never heard anyone that has captivated me like Angelina Jordan has. Your discussion of happiness and joy also struck a chord in me, the mind s a very powerful thing. I remember an exercise that a company I was working for back in the eighties led us in. They had us close our eyes and imagine a lemon in our hands and told us to visualize the different aspects of it including the smell. Then they had us visualize cutting it in half, seeing the juice run out of it, and then bite into it. Most everyone in the room shared how their mouths filled up with saliva, some even saying their jaws ached a little (including mine lol) just from visualizing something that wasn’t really real just to demonstrate the power of the human mind. This was a powerful life lesson for me and others I’ve shared it with to apply this to different aspects of our lives including happiness and joy. Not really sure of if that relates to what you were speaking of, although, just wanted to share it with you. Thanks for your different type of reactions, really do enjoy them and looking forward to more of your reactions.

It needs for us, somehow, to examine and explore what is, and challenge the mind into better and more accurate representations. A good mind is a mind that serves, and doesn't try to run the show.
