Very nice review. Right to the point, objective, thorough and shows the pros and cons. For your purposes (video/film making) I could see where a VND would make sense, but for me (landscape photography) I wouldn't be caught dead using one. Just terrible color and tone change, vignetting, etc. even with the good ones. The artifacts stand out like a sore thumb. Since my subjects are stationary I have the luxury of not needing a fast change in filters. Five seconds is fine. Since my camera is typically tripod-mounted I have the freedom to hold one filter in place while I turn the other, so the issue of multiple filters turning doesn't really affect me.

The good news is that since all the filters are 82mm with a step up ring, it gets the filter out of the way to eliminate vignetting (unless you stack a ton of filters or have a lens with an 82mm filter thread to begin with, as Herokme is showing). I have two lenses with 77mm thread, one at 67mm and one at 58mm, so the filter frame is much larger than the OD of the front element... so no vignetting. I have never had to stack more than two filters (either CPL and one ND, or two NDs)

Thank you for the elaborate info bro Unfortunately, I'm still left to with NiSi's big 112 magnetic coz of my Z 14-24. Nikon just wont do a regular thread for this particular lens. Same goes with their F version. If I'm using the 14-30, then yes, this JetMag version is ok with its 82mm. Their Swift System is equally good too

I find this system very cool. Best magnetic system on the market right now. But I also wish it would have a real locking mechanism. Mainly because of the CPL rotation is done via the magnetic mount. As you showed in the video if you rotate the outer filter the filters below rotate with it. So it is absolutely guaranteed that rotation of the CPL, where you sometimes rotate 360°, you will always unlock any filters below it. And because the nature of a CPL is to be in any rotation depending on the light it will also not be locked most of the time.

This was a great review, untill you said that you would like a variable ND filter. The whole point of getting an easy magnetic fast swappable ND set it so you dont have to use a variable ND for video. There are many downsides to using a variable ND for video....

so for all the vloggers and wedding videographers, you expect them to manually swap an nd every time they turn around? lighting changes all the time in uncontrolled lighting scenarios, and if i had to change an nd every time i turned 180 degrees, that would be really annoying. and like i mentioned, if you’re on set with controlled lighting, this filter system is perfectly fine. but for a lot of run and gun shooters, this probably isn’t the right filter system. magnetic filter is all well and good, but it’s still a pain when someone has to change filters every 30 seconds and reach into their bag and pocket to change it, even if it is a fast swap system
