You all probably get this a lot, but I wanted to let y’all know that my brother found comfort in watching Yes Theory videos in the last few months of his life. We would stay up all night watching every video you all have posted, even rewatching them multiple times. I witnessed him find some form of peace in the end while he was suffering. Thank you all for giving me that peace after his passing earlier this year.

No need to be embarrased at all, I started suffering from mental health issues at 27 after never having previously suffered, I'm 29 now and I'm still learning each day, it's an ongoing thing but you should be proud of yourself no matter what. At this early stage of it just take it day by day and be easy on yourself, you got this 👊

Hai. There's no need to feel embarrassed. I am 26 years old (soon to be 27) and i ve been suffering from mental health issues for the last couple of years. but i have learned a lot in this process. it just takes time and it is a self learning , continuously improving process. process it one day at a time sir. remember, you are not alone and also remember that each and every person in this world has a story and a long battle they are facing in their daily lives. Cheer up sir. You got this!!!

Dont be, you are amazing. The fact that you are able to accept the issues your dealing with is such an achievement. No matter how old or young you are. Accepting and facing the fears and problems we all have is a blessing. Now you can learn how to ‘heal’ yourself and be more self aware then ever before. It can be a rollercoaster sometimes, but don’t be hard on yourself. Give yourself time and love, you deserve it!
@OfficialAwkbe

Don't be embarrassed. They say that life is a journey of learning about the world around you as well as a journey of learning about yourself. Everyone's journey will be different, but it doesn't change the destination. As long as you feel you are on your right path of healing, then you will eventually find your destination as long as you take small steps to get there. Don't feel bad if you stumble a bit or have to rest, and remember that many others are also on this road to give you a hand if you need it. You aren't alone.

Hi Yes Theory! Mental health professional here. The work you guys have done is truly amazing. In a world where social anxiety is high, channels like yours that do things like this are so amazing! With social anxiety, one of the top treatment approaches in terms of successful outcomes is exposure therapy! Often, when we feel anxious in social situations, we want to avoid them. Unfortunately, this avoidance feels good in the short term but negatively reinforces feelings of anxiety in the long run -- you're basically telling your brain you can't handle the interaction. With general anxiety, much of the time we're helping people see that, "hey, those thoughts you're having might not occur or occur with the severity that you think." With social anxiety, we're showing people, "hey, what you think might happen *COULD* actually happen"' (because human behavior isn't always predictable), but if it did, could you handle it? What assumptions do you make about the interaction that impact your perception of the interaction? In mental health, this ability to endure these uncomfortable situations is called distress tolerance. The higher your distress tolerance, the less likely you are to let these social situations impact you and make you anxious. All of these exposure-type things you're doing is showing people that, hey, this discomfort can be *really* uncomfy, but it allows for so much growth!

I rarely leave comments in KZbin videos or social media in particular. But I've been a fan/subscriber since the project 30 days the painting at the restaurant stuff, until you moved to LA and that new place you had, with TD joining and felt real sad when Derin moved away, and when the old LA apartment got demolished. I was in 1st years of college and now been living alone working, for few years and I admit I have not been watching your videos that much for adulting reasons. But this feel so surreal, I feel like I am saying hello and goodbye to a family member. All the nostalgic feeling situations back when I was watching your videos came back into me. I tried commenting before to have Derin comeback for few days and I'm just glad to see him again. And the newsletters of Matt is what gives me life, hope and new perspective in life everytime. Thank you so much for being part of my life and bringing this kind of warmth into my heart. Cheers to the new journey, and celebrate the history. Love y'all yes theory guys

This video shows exactly why I don't think of Yes Theory as just another KZbin channel I watch to pass time or learn something. Looking at these old photos of you guys, and your journey, I'm reminded of something that I know would be good for me but I hadn't done. Which is being ok with being vulnerable around people, that's the only way to find and form the kinds of connections that will enrich your life enough to be something which brings you joy even on your death bed. It's really not worth hiding your feelings to one day find yourself with people who never got to know YOU but only the image you let them know, and you lose sight of what your feelings even are when live long enough to fit an image. Well this was written half for me, and half for someone who might resonate with this. Anyways thank you guys for being you, Yes theory ♥️

Wow. This video made me so emotional. I started following you guys when I was 14 years old. Now I'm 18 and it feels like I grew up with you. I love watching your journey and your adventures. I think it's safe to say that I've seen all of your videos. It's so nice to see the original 4 back together! I'm an alpine skier and the moment when I realized I want to be the best was at the age of 14. That means I've been watching you throughout my journey and I think you made me the person I'm today. I have the words "seek discomfort" written in my heart and it motivates me to do uncomfortable things necessary to become the best in the world. I've got your "mantra necklace" around my neck every time I'm going 60 miles per hour down the mountain. It gives me the confidence I need. Your videos always cheer me up when I need it and they give me the feeling that I can conquer the world. Thanks to you guys my life makes sense. I'm excited for what comes next! THANK YOU!! I've almost never dropped a comment on a KZbin video before, but I simply can't leave this one. I first knew you guys in 2020, and yes, I might not be a day one follower. But I'm ever so grateful for how you carved a wonderful path in my life by teaching me to say yes to life! Back in 2020 it was really some rough times for me. Being a newly arrived international student in France in the midst of pandemic was the most challenging thing I've ever faced. Yet, those times also held some of the most joyful memorable epoch of my life : the best around Europe travelling experience cause it's my first time staying in strangers' house, hitchhiking, and having a real taste of humanity by saying YES. Ever since, I managed to adopt a more optimistic POV in the middle of a somewhat dark world I live in. So thank you guys for giving me new adventures and fresh air in life, keep on keeping on !! -Yoel

Don't you all feel it? Like this life isn't offering us everything it's meant to be. Something is off, something is wrong. Even those who are "successful", still, somethings missing. And this feeling, this realization, often separates you from those you love. Because you sense and know, there is something deeper and more pressing here, that we should be talking about and dealing with. And you want nothing more than to express it to those around you, and do something about it, with them. but they often don't understand. Or sometimes they might get little pieces of it, but they stop there and don't want to delve further. Seems like people are very slowly, catching on. some of us are ahead of the curve. It is painful and isolating.

Yes Theory has been life changing for me. Thank you, both the crew and yes fam, for the impact you've had on both me and the people of my generation. I can't wait to meet more of you in the coming years!

I came across a Yes Theory video for the first time a few years ago (I think the “yes” tattoo episode), and became a subscriber after watching it. These guys are complete strangers to me, yet they feel like close personal friends. It is absolutely amazing to see how far they’ve come since the creation of Yes Theory. I was filled with emotions watching this video, from tears to laughter. There is something cinematic about this 21 minute video. The contrast in quality from the older videos to what they are now is incredible. The older clips of the guys with their lack of facial hair made this feel so nostalgic. It is awesome that you three got the chance to go back to where it all began for this full-circle moment. The impact Yes Theory has created is so spectacular, and I’m willing to bet that millions of people have been encouraged to seek discomfort in their own ways. Despite the darkness and despair in this world, it’s assuring knowing that there truly are wonderful people on this planet. There are now over 8 billion humans inhabiting this earth. That’s a lot of people. Conversations are waiting to happen even with people you may not know. Thank you to Yes Theory for existing and creating beautiful content. I wish everyone reading this the best with whatever they may be dealing with in life. Humans innately do not like to be uncomfortable, but as this channel has proven, discomfort can lead to growth, adventures, friendships, and memories. Life is too short to be comfortable all the time. Take the risk, get out of your comfort zone, and see what this world has to offer. I can’t wait to read Matt’s book when it releases next month. Cheers to Matt for grinding the book out after the last two years, cheers to Yes Theory for starting this community, and cheers to everyone who is still reading this long comment ❤

Been watching Yes Theory from day 1 and it is hard to fathom how far you guys have come, how many adventures you have documented, how much adversity has been faced, and most importantly how much of an impact you have had, not only on myself, but to millions of people across the world. I am so beyond proud, and cannot put into words how much gratitude I have for you and this channel. It has opened my mind and expanded my perspective on life and I have found myself more willing to seek discomfort every single day. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Yes Theory has provided a different type of evolution in my life that I can’t fully explain. I brag about this channel to those around me as ppl wonder where my mindset of seeking discomfort comes from. Despite the channel being up for 8 years, I’ve only been apart of 6.5 years. I’ve seen how this channel has changed my mindset in life. Seeing Thomas and Matt in the cafe made my heart light up because it’s exactly how I pictured it after reading the chapter previews of Matt’s book. It was lovely to see Derin. I am only 10 minutes into the episode and I have plenty to express. Ugh I love this channel and group of guys. Thank you for creating such a wonderful community. I hope it remains pure, fresh, and happy for many more years. I hope others will eventually feel the same way. Edit: my heart feels so full after this episode. Tears actually dwelled up.

this video popped up first listed when i woke up today. it’s my 24th birthday and even though i feel loved by friends and family, I also feel lost in my life and more anxious than ever to peruse my dreams or even leave the house some days. i decided to preorder a signed hard cover as a birthday gift to myself bc this video reminds me of how far ive come. I’ve been watching since early high school and when i think back on where i was then, i can’t help but reflect on my growth just as you guys do in this video. i can be hard on myself but i forget how well im doing for me. ready for the book to inspire me further. thanks for all the constant inspiration over the years.

Thank you so much for all the hard work you all put into these amazing videos and journeys you've taken us on. I'm currently trying to get over my own discomfort (random fear of flying after I experienced my first panic attack) and you all have been helping me try to get over this. Thank you all again for everything you do. Maybe one day I'll have the absolute honor and being able to meet you

I love you guys, I had a smile throughout the entire video and my heart is warm. Can't wait for the book to arrive in my mailbox! And as that Fam member said on the street "What you guys do is awesome, please don't stop, ever, thank you guys". I remember the exact moment and the exact video where I thought "These guys are just having fun and want to share it with us". Thank you for the friendships you guys allowed me to create. Some of the bravest and impressive human beings 🎉always excited to see what’s next for you guys. Thank you for being a consistent source of hope and inspiration. I started watching your channel when I was 14. Lol I actually believe I have a hoodie from one of your first few drops. I am now 22 and the age you were when you began yes theory. Sometime along the way with Covid and my already existing un treated anxiety turned into a deep depression and endless cycle of self sabotage. Watching you guys have reminded me I don’t want to just get through the days. I want to feel them. Even the worst pains. Hopefully it makes the feeling on the other side that much sweeter. Thank you for taking that risk all those years ago. You guys have and will continue to truly change the world!

As I'm sitting here at work balling my eyes out as a 44 year old Man watching your growth seeing where it all started. I feel proud of you as if you were my own family. The team have helped me grow. I used to be a big believer in what if? in my view very similar to yes theory. What if i didn't do this or that? Let me tell you tho, Every video i watch - (And as soon as each video comes out) helps that spark in me grow again. I believe in your yes theory movement but the hardest thing is to step into seeking discomfort for the first time again. I have plans to seek discomfort again but sadly haven't crossed that imaginary line yet. I would love you all to come and see New Zealand one day and help the movement grow here. Lots of Love from a Man who has learn't that its OK to cry and show emotion. Love Ya all!!

I think a lot I love about this channel is that it sparks the inner me. I love the whole methodology about Yes Theory. A group of guys from all different walks of life who decided to live spontaneously, take risks, seek discomfort, and turn a blind eye to certain social norms. I love that! One of my favorite quotes is “And then there is the most dangerous risk of them all. The risk of not doing what you want, on the bet that you can buy yourself the freedom to do it later”. So why work a 9-5 in your home town when the world has so much to offer. This is what I love about Yes Theory. Talking to strangers to live in their apartment. Why? Because it’s different. Fear kills more dreams than failure ever will.
