All these open world gacha games are great and all, but it all looks so time consuming. Reasons why I like simple gacha games like PGR, Lumbus Company, etc.

​@@NookDeSus Yeah you spend so much time and money then they just end of service, thats where youll realize you never actually owned anything and feel like you got scammed. Games arent supposed to make you feel like stuck especially for years. You come across games, finish them, and leave you in awe. That's why I stopped spending too much time with Gachas. I just now buy finished triple A console games and have a blast.

Genshin walked so other gachas could run... It is a shame Hoyoverse let Genshin stagnate and focused on HSR... With that being said, if Hoyoverse still decide to sit on their laurels, I will probably migrate to Azur Promilia...

All my friends play genshin impact for a reason . And what i saw is that all of them are leaving the game for another gacha that fits their taste better. A friend of mine really likes the girls from genshin impact but they liked more the girls from azur promilia. Other friend liked the combat but they grew bored of it and started seeking more challenges at Wuthering waves. There's a lot of things genshin does but as the years go by if the game remains stagnant their playerbase will be scattered and are going to seek refuge in other games that may are not as popular as genshin but fits their demands and deliver equal or even better quality.

There's Crystal of Atlan, an open world mmorpg whose combat is not clunky. Arknights: Endfield, which is like a semi open world version of Arknights, from what I heard(don't quote me). Ex Astris, which is a complete turn base open world game. Project Mugen, which is like GTA + Spiderman. Unending Dawn, which have Sekiro and Elden Ring combat mechanics. Duet Night Abyss, which is like anime version of Warframe. Code Seigetsu and Wang Yue are both open world single player combat focused gacha games, which is what Wuthering Waves is. There are definitely more out there. Anime Open World is evolving and I'm here for it.

I think Project Mugen had the most impressive trailer and demo, but also the most question marks left about it still so it's hard to say (and surely won't be until 2025 anyway). Otherwise, I think WuWa and Promilia seem to be targeting quite different markets, where the former seems more combat-oriented and the latter maybe closer to Palworld's philosophy and being a bit more chill and comfy. But I'd be willing to give either a try at least

Seems like the competitors for Genshin are finally arriving and that nice to see. I myself am curious to see what each brings to the genre and how fun they are couse i'll probably stick to only 1 since there's only so much one can play at once. For me, i want to see how Wuthering Waves will be at launch since the PGR style combat really looks great as does the story setting. And the same for Project Mugen as well, it just looks SO polished and if they get the feel for the traversal right its gonna be a great game to just roam around in. The rest i only heard of today so time will tell.

The covid buff is over, im not sure anyone would had time to join in on multiple open world games but that is yet to be seen. I do hope the other games here take note on the light daily chores approach on hoyoverse games tho. Hardcore player would play regardless of how much investment it needs but the casual are the lifeblood of any gacha games.

Genshin inflated niche gacha space but once people understand how predatory, fomo and expensive this space is, most of them will leave. With decreasing number of players and rising number games above will become even worse creating vicious cycle.

People had a lot of time to realise. Genshin has built itself so much that even big creators who never play Gacha call it a pretty legit and good game. I would say though there are Gacha that are less predatory like SnowBreak. I personally only buy skins in that game and I'm certain I spend less than the likes of overwatch per skin. I honestly wholeheartedly believe they have to make money on skins and whales because the Gacha is very kind in general

My most waited are still Wuthering Waves, followed by DNAbyss and then Azur Promilia. As a longtime gacha player I do agree that Genshin's huge production value is something that gacha space done first outside of probably FGO, who also have quite a production value after it explodes and started the trend slowly.

All I can say is there is no perfect game. I adore PGR that they care about their players for being generous and for providing FUN gameplay. It is a FAIR game. Also it is a "STRESS FREE" game gacha knowing that someday anyone can catch up in clearing most of the game content easily regardless if you are new player, veteran player, spender, slight spender, whale and etc. I love their marketing tactics it is a really awesome! Thanks to KURO for creating this wonderful game. More power!

Genshin walked so other can run. WuWa, AzuPro, ZZZ, DNA, and Endfield...this year is STACKED I'm still doubtful about Project Mugen because it is from Netease...and Netease has a reputation. And I like playing Genshin BUT the Community is the ABSOLUTE WORST, comparing every game to GI and don't get me started on their Yaoi/Yuri ships where they go apeshit if someone voices out their dislike to it (The toxic ones ofcourse). WuWa=> Combat Azur Promillia=> Monster Catching

Tbh I will play all of those upcoming games but still.... I will still play my core games aside from those new entries like Genshin, HSR and PGR. Those 3 games are my main core games that I've played a lot. It's just that it will be increased once WuWa, Project Mugen, Duet Night Abyss and Azurlane Open world games were released.

I am incredibly grateful for what GI has done to the gacha market. I am also glad that there will be competition for Hoyoverse. I would even say Genshin may create a new genre of games called "genshin like". This happen for Dark Souls so I could see this happening.

Hoyo just focussing on Star Rail and letting Genshin basically to die... since this is released before the Livestream, we don't exactly know what's up with Arlecchino (officially) but I don't know if that alone is going to be that big of a deal... As much as i like gatcha games they start good but soon become tirring as there is no progress without money and story becomes actually very hollow. There were games like final fantasy, dragon quest whom i absolutely adored every second and when they ended i felt good, but in gacha it just feels waste of time.

I took up PGR specifically because of WuWa, I love playing it and its story, definitely not regretting all that time spent into it (and have found your content this way, very helpful thank you). I see myself playing "only" WuWa and PGR for a reason a lot of people also have: time. I started PGR a month and a half ago (ish) and I have spent SO MUCH time following the story, doing the extras, my weeklies/dailies and so on. Once WuWa drops, I'll probably sink a stupid amount of time in it as well. While the other games do look good and fun, I don't want to have to do that for all of them and feel either burnt out or disinterested after I've caught up to the story and the game's content in general, on top of "having" to do the dailies for all of them. I start up PGR because I want to play it and know I will have fun, not because I MUST do my daily and weekly content, it's not fun (to me) and I'm not really playing it per se (to me once again). Great video to sum up what's coming up and I agree with your point!

Gotta give credit where credit is due, Genshin started this and went unchallenged for 3+ years. But now we are reaching the real future of gacha gaming, monopoly is almost over and we as players would now have a chance to play gacha games that are as big as Genshin that isn't Genshin. Now that competition would be abundant and with every company trying to jump into the open world gacha rpg genre, for sure one or two of these upcoming games would become a master class of its own and eventually eclipse Genshin since that game has been stagnant for 3+ years now.

Furry and fighting games communities what i hear online. But i doubt fighting games folks will stick for longer. This will leave only hardcore furry's, making one more reason to not be there. genshin's popularity may cause the very best outcome of all: killing gacha. hoyo's success is becoming impossible for the CCP to ignore. if china bans gacha, we might see the end of this terrible predatory monetization scheme, and all these devs will be forced to make games that don't have their design compromised by greed.

probably not, a big draw on these games is that you really don’t HAVE to spend money on it, you’re not forced and more often than not you can still get the cool characters by just grinding it out a ton. I don’t understand how it’s fair to call it predatory other than it can entice kids with bad parents to spend more money than they’re allowed

seems like the opposite to me. gacha games are thriving in asia but seem to be on a steep decline in the west. we aren't buying as much into the waifu culture genshin hit hard in part because it ignored a lot of the dumb anime trends that plague newer games like zenless zone zero. you could show genshin to your family and friends and they'd go "whoa ayaka is pretty she's so elegant." show them zzz and they'll ask why all the characters are either furries, sexualized little girls, or have quintuple E cup chests

I don't think these games will be as popular as genshin impact, tbh. For the arknights and azur lane spinoffs, the majority of their playerbase will be fans of the original 2 games. However, these 2 games are not open world. Becuase of this, I think a lot of people will stick to the original - not everyone likes open world games. As for the other ones mentioned in this video, I think they will either completely die or have a somewhat small fanbase, similar to that of PGR. I don't think Genshin Impact has or will have any strong competitors for quite some time.

I think the only scenario where Genshin impact has a very strong competitor is if Hoyoverse repeatedly makes bad decisions OR decides to pretend Genshin Impact does not exist and focus on Star rail or Zenless Zone Zero, which could theoretically happen.

I was but when i look deeper in that at first glance silly drama, in reality it was not. Broken gameplay, lack of balance, somewhat bad monetisation, and main point - feminist lead writer/CEO girlfriend = bad story + brief event lore, fighting with customer online, thinly veiled insults in game (mostly CN culture based), MC lost any spine between games. It is possible that they get a grip an global will get superior version but with attitude like western AAA studio from Mika my expectation are low.
