When The Frame costs several hundred dollars more out the gate (sometimes almost twice as much depending on size and sale pricing) plus ANOTHER 200 dollars for a bezel, plus a monthly subscription for artwork on top of that, I think it’s worth being more forgiving on the decrease in picture quality the CanvasTV has. If you want the antiglare coating and framed look and don’t care about anything else it’s hard to justify the Samsung now. Will you guys be doing a comparison with the TCL NxtFrame tv as well?
@SuperMyacc2 ай бұрын
If Canvas was more calibrated then okay this would be valid reasoning, but being so off in color negates the whole purpose of displaying art
@omc9512 ай бұрын
Samsung Frame routinely has promos with the bezel included and you choose your colour. It is almost always on sale as well. Review didn’t mention the capabilities of the sensor. The Frame has colour balance correction so the pictures look natural. Also you can thousands of pictures on Etsy for like $10 that are already formatted. And Samsung gives 10 pictures a month for free and changes every month. This is a lifestyle product that is not based mostly around picture quality but quality features. I don’t think they went deep enough and I’m disliking their definitive statements at the ends of reviews. It never used to be like that before.

@@SuperMyaccThe problem with Hisense is that there's a lot more inconsistency with their panels. You might get one that needs little to no calibration or you might get one that's way off. They're still making really good stuff for not a lot of money

I bought a 43 inch 2022 frame to hang vertically in a room to use only as a rotating poster frame, and something that is a serious issue is that while the motion detection to turn on and off the tv after the room it is in has been empty for a while works great, when i put on the bezel, it severely limited its ability to detect motion and turn itself on and off accordingly. I think its a super neat TV that works perfectly for my unique purposes but one of the selling points was the screen being able to turn on and off and the fact that the bezel ruins that is extremely disappointing. Just wanted to share in case anyone else was curious.

Can you drill a pinhole in the bezel?
@trolleymctrollsenАй бұрын
You can make your own in Canva and just upload it to Frame, or buy wallpapers from Etsy. Having a separate One Connect box is the difference, if you’re like me where you have 2 consoles, an Apple TV and soundbar connected, connecting it from a box means you don’t have to unmount the TV just to add remove an hdmi source. Having it at the back like the canvas means the hole you’d have to punch through the wall for the cable pass through will be on the right. Samsung has it dead center and it helps centering the TV. Small details like these makes the Samsung win by thoughtful design.

Sorry but this review is missing a lot of things… what about hanging on the wall, what about portait mode (vertical) for the Hisense? I mean can you hang the tv vertically and does the picture rotate? What about all the passpartout at Hisense? Can you show the pictures without? Would be nice if you can answer the simple questions which are I think for a lot of people, who are buying a tv like this for having art at home, more important than just the technical specifications

I'm definitely waiting for the 2025 model.. Samsung will fix most of their customers concerns, thanks to more affordable options from Hisense and TCL. This is why competition is needed .. its keep companies like Sammy in check and on their toes, plus it drives down prices while giving us more features. (aka Bang for Buck!). The customers win in the end.

I love my Canvas tv. I got it because my tv is over the fire place due to the layout of my new place. Made my own art - if my dogs 😂. Also the anti glare works perfectly where the tv is placed- which gets a lot of light. Also, the ambient/ motion sensor is a nice feature and the auto dimming puts the art at the perfect contrast/ brightness. Don’t know if they activated some settings because their review is not accurate based on my experience.

How come Art mode when the TVs were “off” wasn’t tested? That’s the whole point of these TVs. Frame has white balance correction and motion detection built into the sensor. That dramatically changes the experience when the TV is “off”. No portrait mode support on the Hisense? Those are pretty big brushed over features for this type of product. Samsung also routinely includes the bezel with promos so if you’re talking about price it’s probably worth mentioning that as well, especially if a big talking point in the whole comparison is about how the bezel is not included and your reasoning to recommend the Hisense is just price alone. Samsung 65 Frame in Canada was $1899 last week. Only $200 CAD more than Hisense Canvas at the same time. 2022 65 Frame can be found on clearance for $1499 CAD as well. I would say don’t speak on price as deciding factor unless you’re willing to talk about sale and promo pricing.
@toohhy2 ай бұрын
i did a quick research and found hisense one was on sale last month for CAD 1500(including wooden frame and wallpapers), it is still a considerable price difference if you just compare the sale prices. So I would say the verdict is still unchanged.

I like the idea of the frame or canvas a lot, but I just hope that they make the TV’s more competitive with more modern specs and performance with local dimming. What is preventing manufacturers from pre-calibrating their TVs properly? And barring that why don't we have a quick and easy system to automatically calibrate TVs ourselves? With the level of tech we have nowadays this should be solved problem. A cottage industry of expensive TV calibatring "pros" just feels akin to a the dealership system we are forced to use when buying cars.

The breakout box for the Frame is great, but the Samsung Tizen TV interface is shite, and shoves their “recommended” options in your face. Primarily to be a digital picture frame but doubling up for viewing anything I don't want to be big such as news, TV debates, music videos, etc. But yeah that's a pretty niche use case. I'd imagine it's primarily the crowd that barely watch movies and TV shows and think a TV belongs above a fireplace.

1. The Hisense looks more like an art work than the Samsung. 2. Why buy The frame without a frame, then pay extra for the frame of the frame. 3. Paying for pictures of paintings on a tv designed to show paintings. I think the Hisense is spot-on this time, it's better to get an OLED TV alongside the frame of the frame. it'd look better. ❤
