something you should mention that’s honestly a huge win for the S7 over the Frame TVs is that this doesn’t have something like the one connect box. Can’t tell you how many times i’ve gone out to do installs for a Frame TV and people are clueless and have no idea that the frame comes with an external box for all your hdmi inputs and such.

I had thought about the Frame for a long time, I still may get one for a second space in the home in the future. I also want to try the TCL version one day, but, overall I am very happy with this purchase, and my wife is happy so that means it was an A+ overall for me in my book haha! Grabbed this as a second TV for above the fireplace! We've got a huge Sammy as the main one, but since my wife and I game a lot, a second TV is perfect for shows or art. You're right about those ratings and single-user reviews. We'll mostly use this one for a secondary screen, and when we're not, it'll be an art display.

I am not kidding brother, my wife because I review products often basically is annoyed by my "Tech Nerdyness" and tunes out those conversations lol, but THIS!! She loves and was so excited to decorate around it for Christmas. She wants to play pictures and all of that on Christmas day in the background, wants me to get nice photos to upload and scroll as a favorites list etc. I was like "ohhhh now your interested in my stuff!" hahaha Cheers brother!! How did you mount it? How long is the mounting plate? Did you use toggle bolts and get it in to the stud?

@@brandhark7935 I mounted it on the wall. The plate is +/- 36''. I screwed the plate directly into a horizontal wood stud. Installation was easy and uncomplicated: just level the plate. It took about 1 hour from the time the TV came out of the box to the time it was finally installed on the wall. Frankly, it's the best entertainment investment I've made since subscribing to Worlf of tank in 2016 ! 🤣

Great video. I love hisense and element televisions because of the picture quality and the actual weight of the ti's. These televisions are so light weight you can literally mount it yourself. People who compare it to samsung and lg are lovers of brand. My tv doesn't have any competition once it's at my house so the comparisons doesn't exist. Once again, great video brother. My daughter hogging my tv right now lol lol

Hahahahaha! Agreed! The only time you see a difference is when they’re hanging next to each other. But I honestly think the last two versions of the Hisense U8 have been the best micro led tvs period!

great video! have a samsung frame 75 inch in our living room and admittedly love it (got it in 2022) but looking to get a frame tv for our bedroom now and saw the TCL NXTFRAME and this s7 canvas (only $699 at best buy right now) were significantly cheaper and this video made me feel a lot better about not forking the $1300 over for a 55" frame

What I love about this TV is the 1) flush wall mount, 2) no glare screen, 3) when I turn the tv off the art comes on!, 4) the light sensor which automatically adjusts brightness for the art with the ambient light (tcl has no light sensor), 5) dark blacks, 6) variety of art choices, 7) art plus Bluetooth from my phone, 8) how it works with the 5225H soundbar with wireless sub and surrounds which I mounted to be flush to the bottom of the TV, 9) and the price at $799!

Hi, thank you so much for your review, of all the videos I watched to help make my decision, yours was the best!!! QUESTION! Would you mind sharing your art settings? I have a predominantly white winter scene up for the holidays, in the morning with light it appears pink, later on a little more white. But what is driving me crazy is that the motion sensor does not work, it will turn off at midnight when I have set it, but will never turn on in the morning. Kinda defeats the purpose in my mind if I have to always turn it on and off. Any insight would be appreciated!

Thank you. I did purchase it after your first review. I did notice the low res, but figure it was my internet connection acting up. Guess I’ll go back to use Apple TV on it. Question, have you found any of the other frame options? They are always out on their site. I want to change the default tan frame for the white ones.

I purchased the 55" yesterday. Originally bought the Frame by Samsung but the external control box was a deal killer. Did not have an option to hide on my installation and did not want to have it in the open. Looking at frame options. Deco does make one for the Canvas. There are options on Etsy. Remote must be used with blue tooth. And ambient light is disabled. Are you aware of any other frame options?

Hisense will be releasing more frame options in the future they say thankfully! But I like the color that comes in my living room for now. Are you having the same 4k streaming issue internally, I’m curious?

Weird about the 4k. Is it just movies? I have Hulu and wondering if sports or live tv will stream at 4k. I read a comment on this video where someone said 5ghz wifi connection would fix the issue. Have you tried that? I have an Xbox that will be attached but would rather use the tv OS for convenience. Ps great review. I’m curious to how well it will work to upload personal photos and still have it look sharp.

Thank you. I bought the 65' and your review helped me make my decision. Bought before black friday but Amazon gave me a price correction. I have an issue with the TV going to a black screen when idle (instead of going into art mode). Also when it does, it doesnt stay in art mode for long (I changed the settings to the max 4 hours) There seems to be a discrepancy between "screen saver" and "art mode. Is your Tv going to art mode effectively?

That's good they did the price correction!! That's a good amount. I have the Screensaver/Abmient mode turned to Art Gallery as well. Do you have yours set to Photo Gallery maybe? My TV goes to Art Mode manually when I power it off, or push the Art Mode button. I also have the motion sensor on so that it stays on until it doesn't sense motion for 1hour, then I have the hours of 21:00-7am as the time where it doesn't turn on. But I have motion detection on, Ambient to Art Gallery, and it seems to work the way it should. I hope this helps!

@@CoZChristopher Yes! I paid $800 total. Thanks, for sharing your settings. Ill tinker a bit more. I also have the screensvaer set to art gallery (motion detection and quiet hours) but sometimes when the tv goes to sleep it does not switch to art gallery mode. Ill play around a bit more using your settings and hope its not a defect. Took a lot of time to hang it on marble tile!

Strange issue. Mine streamed at 1080 and I noticed it only showed 2.4GHz WiFi networks when I connected to wifi. I had to click on See all for it to show 5GHz WiFi options, I connected it to my 5GHz WiFi, and seems to be streaming at 4k now. Also, my TV defaulted to Energy Savings mode out of the box.

I almost never use the included tv OS on any tv. They never match the power of external media boxes. The Netflix homepage is usually slow and laggy, 4k video doesn’t work well, even scrubbing back 10 seconds will freeze up Hulu. I currently have a Roku plugged into my Roku tv because it work so much better.

I hope someone can answer this. Hisense just flat out told me you cannot add art or photos to this TV and I know that is incorrect. An app is mentioned to add art. Can someone please point me in the right direction? So frustrated with this TV and the lack of support. But I love the TV and do not want to return it! Thanks in advance.

Glad you love the tv. I bought one too but haven't unboxed it yet. I personally like a matte border on certain prints, like black and white photos, but I don't like how, in your example, the sides are thicker than the top and bottom. Is that image- dependent or does it always default to that same thickness imbalance?

I can confirm that it does. It’s a horrible effect that nullifies the authenticity. We just purchased this tv and the Samsung frame on Black Friday to compare. The mat options are great, but half baked - the side border is ALWAYS wider than the top. My other main annoyance is that when your turn the tv off, it doesn’t seem to automatically enter art mode like the frame does… you have to remember to turn art mode on. That, and the color of the tv was very blueish out of the box. Not a great start for me.

@tylerludwig5628 Damn. That's very disappointing. Does the Frame also have unbalanced matte edges? I'll never be happy looking at that, and I planned on using mattes most of the time because I think it looks more art like. All prints are supposed to have a matte border. Only original paintings don't have a matte and nobody is convinced you're displaying a real painting so images with mattes are the way to go with these tvs, in my opinion.

I’m still not sure. This was streaming apps and not an external player. I haven’t had a chance to look into this trying to push out the holiday videos. But will turn my attention back to this soon!
