The fact that fruits are storage for spirits would make sense tbh, especially with Blackbeard. We all suspect he has different personalities and doesn't sleep. My presumption is that devil fruits are called ‘devils’ because they come from the ancient kingdom that opposed to world government and call them devils in the same way Robin a demon devil child. So I feel like the reasons for why you can’t eat two is more than just about the explanation we got in Water 7 by cipher pol. Coincidence, that we get explanation from Vegapunk on how devil fruits will probably work whilst we also got an explanation for why you can’t eat 2 from cipher pol and now they are returning? To be honest, if someone are capable on eating 2 devil fruits while showing it live in front of people. Many of them will try it and failed miserably since their body can't handle two devil fruits. I feel like fruits actually contain souls of devils. Let me explain. Devils all have some sort of ability, which allows the devil to overpower humans, which it shares with the fruit eater. Seawater isn't their weakness, but the salt inside it. look at Thriller Bark, where Brook used salt to free the shadows in the zombies. Sunlight eve (not confirmed yet) could be taking devils from the depths of hell, where the tree goes through the Red Line and underneath Fishman Island.

I want to point out the tree theory. This could work, think of Yggdrasil. The World Tree in Norse mythology. Even in the Assassins Creed game they talk about it's ability to store the Hugr (The Spirits Mind) or your inner self. By doing this they were allowed to Reincarnate. ***TWO PREDICTIVE THEORIES ABOUT DR VEGAPUNK*** I have 2 "predictive theories," about Dr. Vegapunk and one of them I already talked about in previous video comment sections, but I'll make a quick brief statement about it. The other is new, so there'll be more details. Predictive theorie no 1. Dr. Vegapunk has a ton of Oharan knowledge and is continuing their work, so it wouldn't shock me if Vegapunk could read the poniglyphs like the Oharan scholars as well. Predictive theorie no 2. I seriously think Vegapunk awakened his devil fruit, the Nomi nomi no mi. First of all, he's been studying the heck out of DFs, and I'm pretty sure he knows just about everything, if not, absolutely everything about them. Even awakening, which is definitely not out of the question here. Second thing, I think in the initial state of his DF power he's able to gather up as much knowledge as he and his brain grows accordingly, along with his head. Finally, his awakening is just the fact that he was able to split his brain into pieces and share it with other bodies. He can plant his knowledge and even mannerisms/emotions on anyone he wants. This is also common in paramecia awakenings. The outside influence and all.
