A New Water Based Primer That Can Do Everything. No More Solvent

I purchased this small tin of Zinsser B.I.N Aqua to trial out on a job which was perfect for what I need it for. I had stains from a water leak I had grease I had crayon and I had sap from wood knots that were never treated.
As you can see I painted over all the problem surfaces and waited to see the results.
I have to say after 30 mins it was solid and I can now paint over it after 45 mins which means this covers absolutely everything for interior and exterior paintwork.
No more need to carry solvent based primers.
It's quicker and better for anyone to use and also the environment.
do wash your brushes and rollers out in soapy water after use as this dries solid.
it's around £56 for a 2.5 but worth it.
I will be carrying this on the van as it covers glass, tiles, varnish, soot, crayon, grease, water marks and knotts and so on.

Hi Mate , i used this for 1st time about a month ago , coated a wood lined previously varnished ceiling & if you read instructions it advises minimum 2hours on knots & stains between coats as i like many had heard mixed reviews about it & always normally use the BIN Sealer forcthis type of work

I think it's a great product Dan. I used it on a 8ft x 6ft water stain from a leaked ensuite. It nearly covered in 1 but i gave it 2. Then i went over with isomat ceiling 2 coats. Looked perfect. I've seen people of forums saying it's failed. I also used on knots on new timber. Worked a treat as well. It's definitely my go to now and if it was as cheap as haftprimer it would be my all in one. I think i paid £88 for 5l from somewhere, but cannot remember who.

@@danielwoolcock7267 True mate and also its a 45 mins redcoat time so best to follow that as you could be softening up the first coat if second coat is applied to soon

I've heard mixed reviews over blocking water stains , i'll still give it a try to make my own mind up though . To be fair BIN doesn't seem as good as it used to be. Keep up the good vids Dan 👍

Great product well worth the money. The all prime is good too but think it’s 3-4 hour recoat time. Good for the price £35 for 2.5l but you do need to let it fully dry or it flashes

Seen this a month or so ago when it came out, some say it's not as good as it should be so I stuck to 123+ , glad you did a review though I might pick up a small can and try it now. Cheers

Great review Dan, I'm a big advocate of water based paints, they've come such a long way in the last decade or so but I'm going to have a moan about them now. I've recently done quite alot of hall, stairs and landing jobs and I've had 2 call backs in the last 2 weeks to put right handrails that appear to have "melted" because of the oils from peoples hands. I've used isomat isolac and tikk everall aqua on both jobs and they've both struggled to last more than a few months. Its frustrating because my prep is spot on and in 27 years as a deccy I've never had call backs for failure of a product. If they say these coatings are up to the job then why do they fail so quickly. Btw, its not the prep, everything is sanded, cleaned down with meths, primed, de nibbed, cleaned and so on so on. Have you or anyone else had issues with this? Cheers mate and sorry for the grizzle!! 😅

i tried it last week,2 coats on water stains on ceiling,then 2 coats reflex ,still came thru,also no good over varnish as an adhesion primer,so no good,ended up with bin.

That's handy to know. I always carry Zinsser Cover Stain on the van just incase
