kinda crazy when people say nobody can replace robert england when he is the one who said he doesn't want to play Freddy anymore and Freddy is a horror movie icon that they wanted to keep alive but everyone stays stuck in the past even when the first actor says I cant do it anymore because he's old and it affects his health let Robert be and be grateful for all the films he gave us as Freddy and let him rest I'm glad they went with Jackie because he was scary asf as Freddy

True. It's my second favorite NOES movie after Dream Warriors. It's an underrated good horror movie. And it seems to be way more liked with the newer generation and other people that don't have the nostalgia factor. All my horror movie loving friends like the 2010 Reboot way more than the OG 1984 movie.
@marklouis1890Ай бұрын
@valeriebreidenstein8362 That's very gratifying to hear. It's great that the remake has a place with a different generation once you removed the nostalgia factor. I love the OG 1984 version without a doubt, however the 2010 version added new elements to the story and went darker with the Freddy character, which understandably rubbed some people the wrong way. Unfortunately, you can't please everyone 🤷

I like this remake but I know it gets alot of hate. First of all Jackie Earle Haley did a good job as a replacement true he will never meet Robert Englunds iconic legacy of playing freddy but I feel he did a great job in making the character his own. i thought all the actors were well cast and gave great performances especially Nancy. The problem for me with this movie it just wasnt scary and they stuck too close to the original which everyone knows so well. If your gonna remake a classic you gotta make sure it adds more source to the original and builds upons it. Also the CGI effects where pretty bad in this and looked better in the 1984. Big thumbs up for your reaction.

But it was scary. This freddy was much more immersive and terrifying. Plus that one bedroom scene was the only cgi effect. The transitions later on and the more practical effects were done extremely well.

@@whalewolf7477 True. The coming through the wall scene and the Mom's death scene are the only ones that are fully CGI. Kris' death was actually fully practical. It's even shown in BTS footage. I think this movie has 2 reasons that fans weren't going to accept it. #2 Jackie Earl Haley wasn't Robert England and his makeup was way to different, but #1 Rooney Mara didn't want to be in this movie and she let it out that her Agent talked her into it and she tried to get out of her Contract but it was too late. So she gave NO Effort in her role as Nancy and fans knew that.

I love the Elm Street movies, have them all on DVD, and I've honestly been a defender of this movie 🤷 I enjoy it quite a bit. There's some changes I like more, plenty of changes I don't like at all... Like making Freddy a total wimp weirdo when he was alive instead of his actual origin of just being a psycho since he was a kid that worked at a boiler room in a plant. Or the Nancy character changes, etc. Jackie Earl Haley did a great job though, at least when he was the monster demon Freddy that we know. Robert Englund will always be best, but Jackie did really well and I loved that they went with trying a more realistic burnt victim makeup to his looks. It has issues, but I enjoy this movie overall, always have 🤷👍👍 for the longest time I was hoping for sequels, maybe take elements from some of the og sequels while making something new also. Never going to happen obviously at this point.
