A great saw, a cool head, and a little help from a friend. You're amazing Jack.

Steve hi. The machine helping here made all the difference. The amazing one is Chris. When considering all things logging, he is prolly the best all around guy I've ever seen. Me, I just get lucky here and there & a Smile from Above most of the time. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for sharing a potentially dangerous situation with us. Fun to watch a Pro, make decisions when the lanes are narrow and the stakes are high. Nice work Gentlemen, I tip my hat to the fella running the overhead grapple. The Redweeds turn out to be some decent sticks.. Picking them out one at a time.. Thanks alot..

climbe 44. Me, heck no. Like I said elsewhere in the comments, Chris is the best all around guy in woods I have ever seen. I just get God smiling on me more than average because I need more than average.... Thanks for watching.

when I see the bark on redwoods or Doug firs I wish I could find a way to get a truck load of it to use as ground cover in my backyard the best I get is old growth red oak or black locust bark which it about 3/4s"-1" thick if I am lucky

using the machine is a great idea when available why work harder when you can work smarter

How much better is that air filter compared to the stock ones
@hotsaws1015 жыл бұрын
TCC 360 hi. When a guy gets everything dialed in the saw will generally pick up a second or two in a smaller cut. I never really noticed where particulates make it by a K&N. The HD2 filters are a known quantity in letting debris by. Thanks for watching.

Haven't seen it. Did you do it by youself?

Can I ask why do you prefer full comp. chain? I'm new to falling and have always used skip. Is it the wood you're cutting, or personal preference? Thank you.
@henryholliday15 жыл бұрын
I can say I only run full comp as that is what it is sold around me but I would love to try skip tooth chain in the hardwoods I cut
@matthewstone84665 жыл бұрын
I only run skip tooth on my larger saws, just for filing convenience. I'm a climbing arborist, don't do much straight logging.
@hotsaws1015 жыл бұрын
Gentlemen - I don't always use full compliment chain. It will depend upon a number of factors. In this unit, I used comp, skip and semi skip. I have found comp will cut better in a lot of applications up to ~ a 36 when the teeth have about 15/20 off from sharpening. I run into it cutting to good before that and it will get wood bound a fair amount - which is seen in a number of videos on this channel. Comp attributes - it doesn't get wood dull as quick as skip and it will limb & buck better. Cuts smoother in most applications as well. Hand filing, comp will take extra time for sure. But there is not double the teeth. Thanks for watching.

Man that rotten wood sucks to cut through.
@hotsaws1015 жыл бұрын
Caleb hi. Okay so this wood was not rotten. That is why I ripped the two trees apart. Had they been growing away from anything valuable or a creek zone I most likely would have taken them together. Thanks for watching.

@@hotsaws101 okay thanks for the reply. Looked like it was hollowed out so i just assumed. That and I've been cutting down to many rotted pecans haha
