The brown slug is an invasive species from Southern Europe. It has few natural enemies here and has spread like wildfire. We have been trying to get rid of them for years. The black one is native. That was todays slug news! Enjoy Norway😊

@@duncanself5111 No, hedgehogs dont eat the Spanish slug. What they need is the Indian runner duck or any other domesticated descendant of the Mallard. They love the Spanish slug. In some places you can rent a flock of runner ducks to clean your property from slugs.

All prisons in Norway are for rehabilitation. We have short prison sentences in Norway compared to many other countries and one day these will come out and become your neighbour. The punishment is that you are deprived of your freedom - not the right to become a better person. Therefore, all prisons have opportunities to provide you with training for a profession or opportunities for education in most areas. Only 2.5% of the inmates return after new criminal acts - which is surprisingly good results. We have social security in Norway so that you can rent an apartment, get money for rent, electricity and insurance - as well as an amount to cover food and other costs until you are back on track. You simply get help for most things until you are ready to help yourself. This is simply because it is nationally economically profitable for the state that everyone contributes and works - not lying on the streets where the opportunities are equal to "0".

Y'all do not have a drug culture like other Western countries which can lead to more crime and violent crime. So, Y'all let child rapists out and provide them with everything they need? Don't agree with that.

The "slug " that you have shown, we call it the brown snale. It has arrived here from Spain with plants and it has become a real problem. In the southern Eorope it will be regulated by drought, but in Norway the humidity during the seasons make them multiply like crazy.
@MobileInstinct2
@MobileInstinct2 9 ай бұрын
Wow, that's very interesting. Is the black snale also from Spain? They were everywhere in the southern regions
@Ganiscol
@Ganiscol 9 ай бұрын
The Spanish slug is dominating much of Europe as droughts dont bother them as much. They displaced many of the very similar looking red/brown native slugs to the point where these have become endangered - it is almost impossible to tell them apart without a DNA test, but the Spanish slug is more resilient and has fewer natural enemies and thats why its taking over...

From what you have shown us, Norway seems like a nice place to visit and live there. I love this town. Neat and clean. A nice to live, if one wants to live away from the big towns. As a rule, smaller towns don't have the same places for entertainment, food and sites to see. Living in a town like this one, but close to a larger city, would be ideal. No hustle and bustle is nice. Thanks.

I'm going to take a wild guess, and say that Chris was inspired by the "troll" installations he visited in the US recently, which were set up by a Norwegian sculptor and his team. Spectacular scenery. Feel ambivalent about the exposure. As lovely as it is, I would rather it remain relatively unknown to the world at large, and for traditional life to persist.

Where are the people? Also, why are the houses made of wood in such an extremely cold climate, doesn’t it get wet and rot.
@Morden78
@Morden78 7 ай бұрын
At work or at home, depending on the hour. Or at the gym, in the mountain, on the water, etc.. We do not have a lot of activities happening in the streets. The houses are made of wood because we have a lot of trees, and they don't rot because we have top quality water resistant paint.
