Hi Catholic re.con. I just want to affirm your postulate. Very much so! Without gifted people such as your selves bringing conversion stories so effectively, I believe many people would not come back to the Catholic faith. I'm a revert myself of 2 years, and I am continually built up by stories of those who have also journeyed 'back home'. The priesthood vital as it is, is a completely different ministry to yours and no more or less valid in my opinion. Keep up the important work. Thanks and God bless! 👏 👏 💪 😌

Just a thought. The videos almost seem unfinished because they just close off. It makes it seem like you ran out of batteries. Sorry I am know one to give my opinions. I am sure you work very hard for this ministry and thank you.

I think that's wonderful that he came into the church with his family. But as far as I'm concerned should not be married. We are their children. We are their family.

I thought married men cannot be priests? Is he Roman Catholic???

In the Roman Rite, the norm is for priests to be celibate. That is taught authoritatively by the Magisterium but celibacy is not a Doctrine. Because of the Anglican/Episcopalian Church began ordaining women in the 1970's, Pope John Paul II issued a Pastoral Provision that allowed for Anglican clergy to come into the Catholic Church and be ordained as priests including those who were Married. Since 1981 over 100 Ordinations have taken place. In 2012, Pope Benedict created the Anglican Ordinariate, which is part of the Roman Rite, to have a Bishop over them, who answers to the Pope, but allows the Anglican Ordinariate to celebrate the Mass with some of the poetic prayers from the Anglican Liturgy but adopted for the Catholic Liturgy. The Anglican Ordinariate Use Liturgy uses elements from the Roman Rite according to both the 1962 Missal and 1970 Missal. Pope Francis in 2017 directed that all Priests ordained under Pastoral Provision be incorporated into the Anglican Ordinariate Use.

I am sorry. No married man can be priest. Only in the case of widow with no kids

Update: Protestant pastors in certain cases have been admitted as priests with their wives since the 70's. We had one in my town growing up and it was no big deal. Harder work for them though, I'd imagine. The Church just opened up a whole separate Rite for the former Anglican/Episcopalians who revert and their priests have their orders transferred to th Catholic Church. Remember that ALL Roman Catholic priests were married for more than the first 1,000 years of the church. The practice will return I am though perhaps not in our lifetime.
