I grew up in line of sight of those mountains and am a Welsh speaker and want to say thank you so much for the effort to pronounce the names! It's not easy to read as the vowel letters are pronounced very differently to how they would in an English word. You did great, and I bet if you lived nearby, you'd make friends very, very quickly and learn the lingo. It's all about the effort. Well appreciated. Awesome photos, too! After leaving Wales many years ago, never having taken many photos and having only a crappy camera, I now live in the arse end of inner city Athens, have top notch camera gear, but no desire to photograph as nothing comes close to the beauty of a rugged landscape. Enjoy it, and thanks again!

I am originally from around that area which was a bit nostalgic seeing the Ogwen valley and surrounding area. I now live in Scotland and one day hope to visit there again. You were not bad for an English man on the pronunciations which was amusing for me as a Welsh man!

As a proper local you did a fine job in trying to pronounce the names - for an Englishman that was impressive !! :) Good on ya for having a proper go. Loved the printing scenes, reminded me of being back in school doing all that stuff in a darkroom in Physics lessons or after school - proper education in them days lol Very enjoyable vlog Ian - big thumbs up.

Fantastic video Ian. I guess the format has been driven by necessity of producing content whilst in lockdown but have to say I think you’ve come up with a fantastic solution. Really enjoyed watching your print process whilst also seeing the area and background to the original shot. The pacing and editing were excellent. The print looked superb to me. Think this is one of my favourites of your videos and quite inspiring for when we can travel again. Thank you.

An excellent presentation - the idea of linking information about an area with a printing process related to it is quite unique and of course, very informative. In addition, yes your videos have developed over the past couple of years to the outstanding content you now produce. And I like the way you have attempted to provide something a little different as you document your own journey through landscape photography.

As a born and bred Bangor lad, you're making me extremely homesick young man, as I haven't been home for about 8 years. Good work 😋. Beautiful photography as ever and I do like this format regarding the developing, routes and walks. I hope you don't mind, but some pronunciations for you. 'Y' on it's own is pronounced 'u' as in tr'u'ck. The same applies in the middle of words such as Glyder Fawr. Y on the end or 2nd letter from last is pronounced 'e' such as speed. So Llyn (e), or ysbyty (hospital) 'u'sb'u'te. But good effort non the less and thank you.

Some very nice shots there Ian. Would you kindly answer this question. Your drone footage is very smooth and I've read that ideally you should match the frame rate of aerial footage with with the frame rate you use for the rest of your video? So could you confirm this or not and let me know what you use? Many thanks!
@ian_worth3 жыл бұрын
Hi, i usually shoot my video at 24 frames per second, its all nice and smooth like that. Sometimes i shoot my drone footage at 60 frames per second and slow it down to 24 frames per second in premier, that way i can get the slow motion shots of the waterfalls etc.. 👍👍

Ian, I found this for you, it may help a little> www.go4awalk.com/fell-facts/welsh-language-pronunciation.php You can always ask the Ranger at Ogwen. For sure those beautiful mountains sound better pronounced in Welsh. 75% of the population in Gwynedd speak Welsh as their first language! Great shots and thanks for some great footage brings back many good memories.
