Its magical watching you paint! Your earthy but colourful colour choices always blow me away and how quickly your design decisions form a rich composition. Always inspiring.

I worked as a professional makeup artist for a time, so I have some leftover brushes that were on the expensive side. But, I do recommend using one that is not too cheap when painting pieces that will be displayed or sold, as the higher quality makeup brushes will not shed like the cheap ones often do. Honestly, a good quality makeup brush will typically not cost more than an artist quality paint brush, but they are excellent for blending soft transitions and creating sheer, hazy layers! (Just remember not to leave them in water too long as the are *very* absorbent.
@jclosestudio4 ай бұрын
Hi Kate! Good point about the shedding. I have not had any problems with stray hair from my cheap makeup brushes, but maybe I just got lucky with mine 😄
@JGalegriaАй бұрын
Artist quality paint brushes range from $40 - $240 AU and come in a range of sizes shapes and materials including acrylics, hairs and blends. You already have make-up brushes and no reason why you can't repurpose them, however there's no reason why an artist would buy a make-up brush unless it can do something no existing brush can, or does it better at a fraction of the cost. 🙏
@jclosestudioАй бұрын
@@JGalegria Absolutely. I only paid £1 for the brush, which is so much cheaper than artist quality brushes.

Dear Jeannine, thank you very much for your great work and participation in the painting process. Above all, the great ideas. I've watched all of your videos, maybe it's already been asked in the comments: Your mixing palette consists of a plastic lid and...?? what exactly is used on it? What kind of Paper with water? Thank you for your feedback. Have a nice pre-Christmas season with greetings from Germany 😊
@jclosestudio Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! Wow, must have taken you quite a while to watch all videos. That makes me so happy to hear! For my palette I use a tray (can be any kind) with damp kitchen roll. On top of that I add tracing paper or baking paper. The moisture slowly evaporates through the paper and keeps the paint wet for a long time. If you put a lid on (second tray) you can keep it overnight or even days. Eventually it’ll start to smell though 😄 Ganz liebe Grüße zurück nach Deutschland! Und schöne Weihnachten.

Maybe it’s just me, but with the level of video quality you have achieved recently, I would publish also an unedited version with no speeding and no music, unless absolutely necessary…
