So, I have a portable dishwasher. It sits in my basement until I get to a campsite. Then I whip it out, put it on a camp table or the picnic table, run an extension cord to the RV, run the drain hose into a folding bucket, and you are in business. Fill with hot water and let it rip. It really saves water compared to hand washing, and allows me to get back to evening camp activities rather than standing in my kitchen. Considering the heat of the water in a dishwasher and the dishwasher soap, I think my dishes are much cleaner than if I was still hand washing dishes.

I came within mere inches of buying this brand, but I'm a poor person and it was $30 higher and that makes all the difference in the world. Especially in this wretched economy. But i also added about another 45 minutes to my day that I was wasting just about everyday. I bought a Comfee instead. Same basic shape and idea. Works well, everything is about the same, but no fancy blue light, just plain old white. They have an upgraded model for another $70 (i think it was) with uv germ killing light, but isn't that why we wash our dishes anyway? I think all the portables are about the same. Same features, same basic structure. Mine even has the little concave spot for soap that immidiately runs out. Mine works well and cleans just like yours! The cold hard truth that no one seems to tell about these mini machinmes is they are basically built for one person. I had to put my skillet in it diagnally (and one cup), because there just isn't much room. If you live alone its probably perfect, but if you are living with a family in an RV you might want to think twice, unless you want to spend the whole day swapping out dishes until they are all done. Overall great devices, but when they say "apartment sized" they mean it!!

Thanks to you I’m buying this. Great demo! I live in a house a little bigger than a tiny house. 900 sq feet. I’m having my kitchen redone. Perfect! Been watching you for about 12 years and traveled across the US solo with my dog. You’ve taught me so much. I was 60 when I went on my big trip. 68 y/o now, one open heart surgery later. wiping food residue prior to stacking in HAVA would be a good idea especially if it would be a while before actually washing that way the remaining food would not be dried. Draining into a separate container instead of the grey tank makes sense if boondocking.

I have this dishwasher and LOVE it. My kitchen is old and getting this was a game changer. I do have a Delta faucet that pulls out, so I use a clothespin to hold it in place while filling with water and I put in the dishes. It chimes when the requisite water level is hit. I have found that I have gravitated to pots & pans without long handles so that they fit inside.
@donnac.1609

Even commercial dishwashers need dishes rinsed before washing them. Every dishwasher has a SCREEN to protect the pump from food particles. If not kept clean problems happen. Letting food particles get in your grey tank can really cause problems over time. If you keep that screen clean kudos!! Washing dishes with spray bottle of vinegar and water will keep water usage under control. Dishes easy to rinse.....and they shine.

You won't have to worry about that holding a sink worth of dishes either🤣. Anybody that RVs knows that countertop space is like real estate it's very valuable. That takes up way too much room for how much it cleans. And I bet it's a pretty big drain on your battery.

I like it ! It Worked great. For a dishwasher not connected to faucet ! But even when you put dishes that have had certain foods like Chile / beans Spaghetti sauce / wipe out the food particles. It makes your machine last longer. Tomato based food sauce will discolor the inside. But truthfully even the bigger ones with crumb crumblers need to just wipe excess food. I never rinse before unless the Food really gross and just scraping off Which is what you do to not have a machine full of food .
@HughWoo

You need the food particles to keep the drain lines from clogging up. Soaps that we use in our dishwashers will clog up lines over time. Same with your washing machine.

Many of the newer dishwashers these days have a sort of ‘disposal’ thingy that chops stuff up. I’m not saying like the kind that goes under the sink in a sticks and bricks house but think of it as a tiny blender that cuts food up so it’ll drain. Yours may not have it but many of the newer dishwashers do.

I enjoy hand washing some dishes, but it actually uses more water versus a dishwasher. I couldn't believe it, but its true. My buddy never rinses his dishes first and stuffs and overloads it to the top (with dirty pots and pans too). They still come out clean to my surprise. That hot steamy water in that small space just melts off the food. Pretty cool, and only uses 4 or less gallons water. Hand washing I'll collect water and easily match that for 1/3 the dishes
@tiggiler
@tiggiler 2 жыл бұрын
We tried one that is essentially the same just by a different company and was not impressed. Yes, it ran and kept you from having to manually do the dishes but it took way too long to run. In a sticks-and-brick this isn't so bad but in an RV where you're limited on space, time to pick up and leave camp and/or actual dishes in the RV, you don't always have the time to wait. We ended up returning it and would not recommend for non-full time RV'ers. For full-timers, it may be a different situation.

@@ronsmith1364 It's been working without any problems for years and it cleans jeans or anything extremely well, because the agitator pushes high pressure streams of water through your cloths and not just churning left and right up against your cloths. Now mind you, I am only one person, so I am not comparing it to a normal load size washer, which btw a lowes front loader washer is king. But then again, those are for those high maintenance whores who have their rich husbands/johns wrapped around their finger.

USE HOT WATER! Dishwashers are made to MAINTAIN water temperature, not heat it from room temperature. Depending on how it's designed, this means either it'll run without the water being hot enough (especially early on the cycle), or it'll overwork the heating elements attempting to get the water to the right temperature.

Gotta admit I've never been a fan of dishwashers. My firsthand experience includes 1 that was in an apartment a long time ago. I'm shocked this worked like it did.....to the point of doubting you for the first time ever....and I've been watching for years. I'll be keeping this in mind for the future. Glad Hava got in touch and you accepted.👍👍

That is a cool little washer. I'll have to take a look at it and see if it would work for my needs.

Although pods are convenient that is such a small dishwasher it might be way too much soap for it and may leave a soap residue on your dishes or cause a buildup in your machine, you may have to switch to a dishwasher gel and use a smaller amount to match the load size. I’m sure you left that much food on all the dishes for the purpose of the demonstration but in the future you might want to wipe off that much chunky food residue with a paper towel before running the dishwasher especially if it is greasy foods which will then be more difficult for the dishwasher to remove or could spread it to other dishes and excess food and grease may clog your filter or cause bacteria to grow in your gray tank.

One good thing to know about dish washers...they are water tight so if you are ever concerned about flooding in your house or RV’s you can store documents and other items in the in a closed and lock dish washer in an emergency.

You should at least wipe the food residue out of the bowls, plates and pots. All that food residue is not good for your grey water tank. It will cause bad odors. The dishwasher cleans well.

Nice dishwasher. I like seeing where you start the instructions without your jacket on and then it's back on when you start pouring water into it 👌😂😂😁
