wow, this aired 17 days before i was born. i discovered him about a year ago while rewatching a simpsons episode in which they parody him and i went and looked it up and now i have 9 different lake wobegon collections on CD and i put the mp3s on my phone and listen to it everyday at work. it's soothing somehow and relaxes me.

Thank you for uploading. Doc Watson reminds me a lot of Burl Ives.

I used to listen to his show all the time and owned several CD collections of his stories. That was before he started injecting every monologue he did with political jabs and slurs. Never understood why he would taint such marvelous narrative talent with politics. Anyhow, I do appreciate being able to watch this wonderful old broadcast.

It's really the whole culture that changed. Everything's politicized now, but especially entertainment.

That's right, MAGA don't like anything humorous or rational. As if politics isn't a part of everything.

Does anyone of you know where I can find online anymore of these older broadcasts? Everything I have found on here is 2010 and up. It would be greatly appreciated, as I have extremely fond memories of listening to The News From Lake Wobegon with my parents as a child!

In case you haven't found it yet, there's an auto-generated Topic channel with a few episodes from 1987: kzbin.info/door/RpgVgnvJu_NV_Gv_zP1LAQ

You know....Keillor sort of reminds me of "Bubbles" from "Trailer Park Boys", Maybe it's just the big glasses. And the supposed origins in a small, rural town (or trailer park, as it may be).
