@@davidwhite4874 Bro, your information is pretty outdated. "One Third Stories is now worth £2.64million - EIGHT times the amount Peter Jones valued it at. -06.02.2018" Looking at their company from a year later in 2019 their net worth dropped into -£147,725.00 when it was £172,240.00 in the positives in 2018. Their liabilities were around £250,061.00 while their assets only contained £97,695.00. It seems like they hit a spike in popularity, couldn't keep it going and failed miserably, if I'm not mistaken.

Really, 20% is incredibly reasonable for where their business is at. It amazes me the hubris they must've had in order not to see how easily their business could completely crumble and to reject the help they likely would need to sustain themselves going forward. Or perhaps they weren't really in it for the longterm and had plans to move on to their next idea once they generated enough revenue from this.

Wasn't the point of their appearance imo. Several businesses aren't really going into these with reasonable valuations for what they have on purpose, and are in it because the advertisement only costs them the costs of the presentation and travel, which is minimal. inc online had an article about "Just how much Money is a 'shark tank' appearance worth". I'm sure it's at least somewhat similar in the UK or any other region where a similar model show is produced, looking it up will tell you the value of the appearance. 20% was about as unrealistic an ask if the 500k fundraiser previously was at the valuation it appears it was placed at, but 60k is a relatively puntable cash request for peter's initial investment, and if they were serious about the investment to begin with then they failed to realistically appreciate the additional investment peter was willing to put in without them requiring another fundraising round. Thus i believe they were not in to make a deal outside of their terms ever, or basically were not there in good faith.

Whenever Peter is actually interested in the pitch, he'll always chime in early and be very outwardly negative, fixating on an aspect of the business and borderline insulting the entrepreneurs. It's a clever way to sew doubt in the other dragons and make them declare themselves out so he has more leverage in the negotiations. Saw his offer coming from the second he talked about their low traction rate on their website. Also what the hell were they thinking? Peter was clearly interested. If you offered him 10% you'd probably end up meeting in the middle somewhere with 12% or something. Maybe 15% w/ a buyback. The fact they didn't even try just shows they were only there for the free advertisement imo

It's pretty obvious they only came on for the PR and advertising. The BBC should not highlight these cases where someone is clearly not interested in getting an investor and uses the programme as a promotion tool. They managed to turn 50k of expenditure into 19k of revenue and are valuing the business at 800,000: forty times earnings, as Peter would say. Edit: In fact, if you look at their website (onethirdstories.com/spanish-story-boxes/), they increased their prices even further after the show. Pure greed.

These guys didn't even want a deal. They came in for the exposure. It got worse and worse as they talked. "advisory shares" then the pure arrogance to say "7.5% is a fair deal" who the hell goes into a negotiation with no room for negotiation. The fact that they weren't even willing to go up by a couple of percent shows they had no interest in getting a deal. I really hope they fail because of this. Silly lads. As Peter said, with a dragon, they've got someone who could invest more without having to dilute. If they believe in their product to be really successful in the future, then I don't see why a renegotiation of the equity stake could not happen. In any case, just absolutely foolish to be inflexible over the equity stake. Peter was literally asking for a counter-offer at least. He might have even accepted 15%.
