"This makes no sense" I thought to myself during the entire video. Feedback simply doesn't work this way. For one, feedback from audio signals is electrical in nature. Such a thing cannot be conveyed over a medium other than proper wiring. I think what you're talking about is the output sound which is synthesized directly from audio signals and the feedback from them creates a distorted sound that is at a frequency which damages the monster's hearing. What I find likely is that Regan has a super high frequency range which makes her unable to hear anything normally produced in nature. This same frequency hurts Regan because she isn't used to it as well as the monster who is too sensitive to it. It would also explain why no one else hears it as the frequency is too high to be heard by anyone else.

Also, Reagan didnt give her little brother the toy knowing it still made noise, she removed the batteries inside and the boy took the batteries back when she was not aware. I like how the hearing aid is an “accidental” solution. Like many inventions in the past, the accidental ones seem to be a breakthrough in technology. For example, safety glass (used in windshields of cars). So I can see how the hearing aid in the film somewhat plays off of that.

I agree that it could have been executed better. But him sacrificing himself brought closure to the story arc between him and his daughter not believing he loved her anymore. So it served story purpose. Not sure if he had an object to throw at that moment. He cant exactly run and grab something without making a sound. Besides throwing a stick would only provided short distraction. I think his reasoning for sacrificing himself lends to the creatures spending more time doing whatever it is they do when the kill you. Which I imagine they eat you?... but they never really made that clear. Either way they payed no attention the rolling truck once they had Dad in their grasp.

One of my favorite things about this movie is I didn’t even know any of the characters’ names during the whole movie. I’m sure they reveal them somewhere, but I never caught them and something like that didn’t even matter to the story, I got so connected to the characters without even needing to know what their names were.

Marcus was scared of them but also the bravest after his dad. The girl just got lucky because of that deafness of hers and not even that, Lee was the one who accidentally created that device. Lee is the MVP. Not forgetting the Mom, Such a Badass. Overall it was a good movie with an idea that I really liked and to tell you truth Once I had a dream like that and although the dream was haunting the idea intrigued me. To see that there's movie base on the same idea was quite amazing. I enjoyed it a bit more because of that too XD. 8/10 from me.
