Look how much you accomplished this past year! I get a kick out of everyone complaining about 2020 and then listing everything they managed in spite of (or because of?) the pandemic. I celebrate 2020 as the year of creativity and innovation. People really are amazing and we should be proud of how we took on the challenges of the past year.👍🤔🙂

Hi Karen, I hope you have a better 2021. I’m in the UK, about 45 mins from Chris English. I’ve also had a bad year but mine pales into insignificance compared to yours. I lost my Uncle, with whom I was very close, in the autumn. Earlier in the year caring for my mum (his sister), started to become very difficult as her dementia worsened and the fight for care began. Because I have an autoimmune disorder I have had to shield throughout. Starting to sew, venturing into quilting and finding your videos, and other peoples, of course, has helped me through this time. Yours were the first I started watching and I still love to rewatch old ones, and look forward to your new ones. Thank you so much for being around. It’s made all the difference to a very hard year. All the best now, and for the future. Love from England, Deanne

You have achieved so many milestones in 2020. Congratulations! I have watched most of your 100 videos, and am impressed with your knowledge, and creativity. I am a "neighbour", just down the road in Kitchener, Ontario. I have only been quilting for about 2 years, and you have helped so much on my own journey. I was so happy when you announced that your son was in remission...so happy for you and your family. Please, keep up the creativity, and your love of quilting.

How do I subscribe to your newsletter? My husband and I used your ugly fabric video to make a quilt for our nephew. I had rotator surgery so he helped selecting fabric, cutting, ironing and useful comments. He was thrilled and proud that you are Canadian and almost insisted on getting your newsletter. He wants to learn how to quilt and your videos are great. He watched your ironing video and is now the”expert” in the family!

Thank you, thank you, thank you 🙏 . I sewed all the dresses for a friend's wedding 20 years ago. I was so burned out that I didn't touch the sewing machine again till 2 years ago. I made a quilt. No pattern, just squares. Then another, then another. At lockdown, I started looking for KZbin videos. You have been so informative and make it so fun! And, my quilting has improved by leaps and bounds. I'm so glad your son has recovered!! I'm sure your love had a lot to do with it. Take care of yourself and I hope you are enjoying yourself as much as we enjoy you.

Karen, I started following you earlier this year when BC went into lockdown. As a high school teacher who was told to only teach one lesson a week per class in remote learning, I found myself with some time to sew, especially since I knew I needed to make masks as we planned on going back into schools in June. Sure enough, watching mask videos somehow led me to you, and now I'm just so enamoured with quilting. I actually made a baby blanket for my best friend who just became a father a week ago, and it's thanks to your amazing tips and tricks that my HSTs were nice and straight, and my blocks nested well. You are such a strong and amazing person, and I have thoroughly enjoyed my subscriber status to your channel. I am always learning something new and useful. Happy New Year, and I look forward to the content that you're planning for 2021. I'm glad to hear that you've got such great people to help so that you don't burn out.

Thank you for all the inspiration and help. I watched you bullet Journal videos and frankly thought "Not for Me" I am not a journal keeper nor a planner. I do whatever I am in the mood to do. But looking at what I got accomplished this year I decided that i was "planning to fail". About the only way the pandemic affected me was longer hours and more stress. My studio is unusable and my mood has been a resentful un-motivated depression. Plus I have even more UFOs. So when I was wide awake at 1:00am in the morning on January 2nd, I took some time to start a bullet journal. (yes I had a book I could use, I like journals and will pick them up on clearance I am just not good a keeping them) The next morning, I started working on the Studio. I am not sure how long it will last but It did get me moving.

Email isn't enough, there's a level that is missed. I am a sewist, and have always wanted to learn how to quilt, but the beauty of the patterns made it one of the most daunting things I had ever approached. After watching / listening to you I have now created 1 + flimsy's using your patterns. You are a wonderful teacher, calm patient and willing to show that you also make mistakes, have questions and modify. Thank you for being there for me during this past year!

I just want to say that you truly inspire me to dig deep inside of my own self to get to quilting. My problem is that I am ready to "Retire" and can't. I have to work. I have managed to get 12 Quilt tops made/ but not quilted since the next phase is the most expensive. The 3 B's as I call it. Batting, Binding, and Backing. Then the Quilting. I have 2 manual frames... that I can not see to get the hang of hand quilting. I am left handed and can't seem to get the rocking motion to going; so I send my quilts out to a longarmer; which I would rather do it all myself. I want to start my business up; but just don't have the means financially to do so. So I just wish and pray that I finally get the open door that I need. Please keep up the GREAT work... I truly enjoy each and every one of your videos//// Have a great new 2021.... If you know someone who needs a quilt or even Cross Stitch... FYI my cross stitch are designs by Marty Belle... very detailed. Have a great one...Carolyn

Congratulations on all your milestones! I think it's fabulous that you have a team; I ran a custom cake business out of my home for a few years and burnt out because me, myself, and I were the whole team lol. Best wishes to you and your family in the New Year!

I've enjoyed "getting to know you." So this is what retirement is? I'm so glad you have been able to help others by having them help you.

Your channel was a gift to me in 2020. I started quilting in May, made nine quilts and you were there the whole way, answering questions I had and ones I should have had, all the while offering tips and inspiration. May your 2021 be filled with good health and happiness.

You are an inspiration! I am a late to the machine quilter... new to the art, and I truly appreciate your clear concise directions and focussed content. I know from my personal experience that while you make it look easy, it takes about five times as long as each video runs in preparation and planning. I am so grateful that you do that. It demonstrates a respect for the art and the craft that you do so. It helps me take time with my efforts.

I enjoy your videos very much and appreciate all the time and effort it must be to create them. I don't have a bullet journal, I have friends who do have them, but I actually find the techniques you teach both in quilting and in organization applicable to my other hobbies and issues with organization in my life! And I find myself recommending your videos to friends who are not quilters!
