No it won’t. Both bids get accepted, doesn’t matter if one is £1 higher than the other. Then it comes down to who the player wants to sign for. That’ll be decided on a number of things like wage offer, image rights, reputation of the buying club etc etc. there won’t be a bidding war on the price when there is a buy out clause.

This summer, I feel, will be a ‘deal clincher’ for key players at our club (especially the ones who were sold ‘a project’ at NUFC) - and especially after this difficult season. Ok, we’ve had bad luck (injuries, fixtures, dodgy var decisions etc). How we react to that - from May to August will be interesting to say the least!

Are Uefa going to ban all English teams if they dont comply? That would water down their product, with the PL being the most watched league in the world. On Bruno, I'd flog him, a great player, but I'd rather lose him than Isak, who's a generational talent. Isaks ceiling is anywhere he wants it, has everything in his locker to be the best in the world.

There was a comment on the BBC "gossip" page by a Spanish newspaper saying that Pep Guardiola is "obsessed" with Bruno. Yes, that page is 99% cobblers, but thinking about it, Bernardo Silva was allegedly' on the verge of leaving city late last season & it looks like De Bruyne is not going to be a permanent fixture from now on due to injury. Rumours about Silva going to Barcelona have already started so you have to wonder if City will want some midfield strengthening before next season. If that's the case then Bruno MUST be a target as he'd fit Man City like a glove. Ball skills, creativity & work rate, he has them all.

@@Sillygoooose624 I think the BBC will print anything that is reported in the local rags & to be fair, they do call it "gossip" so they can't be judged too harshly. I read it every day although I have absolutely no idea why. It was just that the comment about Guardiola & Bruno was from a Spanish based sport publication & generally the reports that come from Spain, Italy, Germany etc seem to be slightly more reliable than those from the UK. Could still be cobblers but at the risk of being cynical, I just can't believe people buy in to Bruno's comments about loving the area and wanting to be here long term with his kids being raised here. Fair comment, but what can he get here that he can't get in Milan, Barcelona or even Manchester with his salary doubled & a constant stream of trophies & accolades. He must by now realise that he's not going to get much at Newcastle for a few more years. Unless FFP etc is all scrapped straight away.

Unless the changes to ffp that are being banded around come into force at the end of this season i'm preparing myself for us losing bruno & possibly isak as well. I reckon we'll keep joelington as i think he's irreplacable. But i can imagine it being discussed that tonali could be a decent replacement for bruno & cashing in on him & isak, our only other sellable assets might be necessary to balance the books & hopefully bring in a few new faces. We can sell bruno, cash in, and re invest in 2/3 good players. We also have tonali available from August. We can't sell isaak, considering the injuries he had he scared 19 goals this season so far. I would get rid of Wilson

Why did NUFC bring in Tonali? Doesn't he play the same position as Bruno? Bruno makes some great passes and then he makes some absolutely garbage passes, he accumulates yellows because he can't control his temper, I do see how he raises the game of others around him but I guess I'm not just totally sold on him being the 'future'.

Oh well, Bruno's on his way out then. On current form and continuing run of injuries there is now way we will qualify for one of the European places. Frustrating when you look at the quality of that injured side that we could have played in itself.Now to the end of the season hopes will be on cloud nine over the vote to replace FFP/PRS for the 'taxation' route where the PIF can spend big and bring in players of commensurate quality to support Bruno - only for that to be probably watered down so we can't quite do it.

We cannot cope with European football of any kind. We played an extra 6 games this year and the supporters have given howe a pass for this crap season. More games means more injuries and the howe worshippers will give howeva pass for a disaster season next season. Excuses are everywhere. Bruno will want to play at a higher level even if the "howe is the new alex furguson" brigade don't care. Our fans will always be sentimental after the Ashley era and reward mediocrity and in turn we will remain a stepping stone club until our fans and the board act as a serious club with ambition.
