A real diesel replacement? 2022- BMW 330e Touring PHEV review

As a private buyer I’d get the 330i, good economy and performance less weight and less to go wrong later down the line.

Great review. It was built for company car driver tax breaks. As well as poor MPG on longer journeys, there is also the reliability issues associated with a very complicated drivetrain, and an expensive battery that will run out of life at some point.

You can’t get a 330d. Alas no more. I bought my 330d wagon a year ago. Great car.

Get the 330d not this. Trust me I’ve driven my 330d for over 40,000 miles and it’s averaged 46mpg since leaving the factory. 55mpg is easy on long runs. I had a 330e for a week and I got low thirties. It was heavier and had much harder suspension. According to ‘Geoff buys cars’ you tube channel, a new battery will cost 10k!!! The 330d is quicker too and will give that performance all day long for 600 miles. The 330e has a tiny fuel tank.

Geofffff buys cars quoted 1 repair bill which is obviously not representative. You can get batteries fixed for a lot less - if they need fixing in the first place. Also bmw doesn't offer any more 3 series diesel in the uk

Geof buys cars is an anti EV nut job who doesn’t know what he’s talking about, I had a brand new tesla battery here in the U.K. when my car got flooded, cost was £8266 fitted, prices are getting cheaper all the time.

Could go on an on tho mate…. For example we have a 2023 M135i and the wife averages 37mpg in it and easily over 40 on a steady run! So that’s 310bhp and 4wd with similar economy to your 320 🤯👌

300,kg extra.... So compromised handling, increases fuel reduced when thiis battery pack is discharged, very high up front cost to purchase the hybrid battery ststem, more to go wrong plus battery deterioration or battery failure at a very high cost to replace... And let's not forget the reduced luggage volume. So all told it is a big backward step.. Best avoided I would say .

No, it isn't nonsense. The batteries fail and need replacement, 6 years is a common time frame, and BMW don't see it as warranty replacement.
