A Rusty Nutz Ranch Update: BIG Things Happening at RNR!

You will surprised. I had 4 narrow fronts in a 26 by 24. I still had room for the work bench, and lawnmower, and tiller. I approve of high clearance doors. Low clearance is dangerous. As I age I realize time is valuable. Heading to LeSueur Friday in time for the rain. Thank you Kenny.

Well, if you remember way back, I had the John Deere A, Case SC, and two Harleys in the single car garage at my townhome.. That was tight working quarters, but I made it happen! I have a story regarding a low clearance door. One that almost prevented me from being here talking to you today!

Nice one Kenny! A nice traditional way to build a barn - I weren't sure what they looked like as I'm from the UK so I googled it! It will look great I'm sure, looking forward to the progress and hope for a good summer - bloody cold and miserable over here - it was warmer in January and February! Weather's gone crazy! :)

Just now getting time to watch this episode myself - congrats Kenny!!! I know the feeling, it's been years in the making for me to get my tractor/machine shed put up too. I'm in the same spot as you with having someone else put it up for me - I'm sure I can figure out how a pole barn has to go together but it would take me so long to do it myself plus I wouldn't be able to do as good of a job as the pro builders that do it every day. Most crews can put these buildings up in just one to two weeks, start to finish and that counts for something right there. Mine is tentatively scheduled for the materials to show up on June 14, so we might both be rolling about the same time! 😎👍

Yes. I know I could accomplish this feat, as well.. But sometimes you have to know when money is "well spent". Dealing with all of the red tape I had to (it was a LOT)... That set me back in the builder's calendar. I am 12th in line this year, and was informed I likely won't be seeing the building until August. Hopefully sooner, but I'm not holding my breath. Pretty cool that we are both seeing things come to fruition after YEARS of hard work! Onwards!

That's exciting to hear you're gonna build. Do what you can as you can. I'm sure you'll be surprised at what you can fit in there. There is a condemned house just down from me that I would like to get the property to put a real shop up but funds aren't that available at the moment.

Little pieces at a time. Just having a roof to put tractors under is a HUGE thing. I'm looking forward to seeing it become a reality!

Congratulations been waiting on this for awhile. If you run outta space a lean-to could be added later if you’d decide to do that, which all tractors are yours?

I wanted to build a lean to in the beginning but budget just doesn't allow for it right now. Same with a concrete floor. I have 6 tractors here that are mine, the other 8 are friend's tractors.

Leave end open can always ex tend lenght another bay dont worry about concrete earth will compact or use hardcore.

Not going to leave an end open. Everything will be closed in. I don't have enough property to justify a larger building.
