This come back should have been a lesson to all gaming companies, but sadly it is still not. Here was a game that for all intensive purposes had failed at launch. Most gaming companies when they experience this failure, it is their own fault. They rushed the game, they over promised, and they lie about features. At this point you could say and what many game companies say is, "It's over." But they took a concept that people wanted, and they fixed it, and kept fixing it until it met and then exceeded expectations. And the game went from hated to loved. And what you would think was an opportunity window that couldn't be revived, turned out into a second wave of financial success just by making the game right. Now one might think that obviously you make grand scoped games right and the payout is huge. Wrong. The industry still sticks with greed and short-sightedness to their very own detriment. How sad.

I was a teacher. Shawn is a nerdy kid, obsessive about his interests but always turns his work in on time, even if he isn't interested or the assignment sucks. He couldn't make the due date, and was too embarrassed to ask for an extension. So his work sucked and he got an f. He comes back a week later, turns it in again, exceeding all of your original expectations. He gets an A, a wink and a nod, and an implied dont do it again. Just ask for an extension next time.

@NovemberRain Your loss I guess man. Have fun? Not sure what you get out of giving me hate cause I like a game you don't, but aight my guy. P.S: Sony had quite a bit to do with the game getting rushed. If there's a separate developer from the publishers, it's usually going to be the publishers that causes time related issues. At least from my experience.
@moze_-2 жыл бұрын
@NovemberRain Neither am which is why I didn't buy the game until like a year and half after launch. After the team got a beating, hunkered down, and added a fair amount of upgrades and content to the game. Again, good for you but I like the game. Pretty simple. Don't know what part of your ego you're stroking by having this conversation with me, but again I like the game, you're not a fan, that's that. End of conversation lol. Maybe put this vitriolic passion for the hatred of this game, and the marketing practices used, to become a politician and make an attempt to bring laws into fruition that might prevent this in the future. Or, continue picking out some random dude who likes the game and trying to portray yourself as a higher being by not playing/disliking the game.

I have a feeling that Sean actually meant all of that because he want to make a big game. But doing all of it in two year mean working on it 24/7 since that a lot of stuff that was going to be in there. So once you think about it, the game is actually a rush game ON it releases date. So if they get like more then one extra year, they will probably will finish it. Think about it, it a small game company so it will near impossible to make a game that big with all of those great mechanics in you. If you want a game that big, You probably need like 2 or 3 of the greatest game company to help them make it.

43:43 And that's the actual worst part about Warcraft 3 Reforged - that it's completely abandoned now. Everything could've been reworked, retooled or "fixed" if they just cared. There was a post saying ranked and profiles were being worked on, but then the whole classic games team got disbanded and while stuff like D3 or even HotS can still get some updates War3 is completely dropped now. And it's not like they don't have the money or manpower (Hearthstone makes the kind of money needed in an hour), they just don't want to. Higher-ups see W3R as complete financial falirue and want to bury it. There's been two big sales since Diablo 2 Resurrected release and it's been on both of those sales, but W3R hasn't been on any since it launched. The only way they could bury it more would be if they pulled it off the shop's page, but that's a complete waste of any potential money.

Oh boy I can relate to so many games that took the wrong route, and studios that were pushed by their publishers to ruin... It amazes me that these guys actually did the right thing and fixed the game instead of milking it as it was. I can bet that this game wouldn't have had such a bad start if Sony would just let them finish the game as planned to begin with, but that's the nature of publishers. Ubisoft, EA, Activision, hell even Bathesda pushed for Fallout 76 (so they say), did anyone actually think Sony would be any different? Anyway, I applaud this developer for being one among a handful that actually does the right thing.
