My bulk fuel storage needs to be upgraded. Today I start making a Shopmade Fuel Dolly!!
The biggest problem I'm having with my current fuel storage tank is I have to bring the machine to the tank to fill it up with gas. Another issue is, the storage is only for gas, and I need diesel for my GC2300, awesome tractor!! There are other issues I have with the current setup too.
So I have come up with the Ultimate Shopmade Fuel Dolly system!! Have a look and see the first part, building the base, of this project.
Here is an Amazon Affiliate link for the battery powered auto stop fuel pumps I reviewed a while back: amzn.to/4fKHtmk
And here is a link to the video where I reviewed the pump: • Gas Can Update and a G...
Also here is a Costco link for the gas cans:
www.costco.ca/...
And here is a link to a video where I review the gas cans: • Could These Be The Bes...
This project may take several episodes as I still don't have a lot of time to spend in the shop. So I appreciate your patience as I work through this project!!
Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy the video. Please 'thumbs up' me and leave me some comments. And if you haven't done so already, please consider 'subscribing' to my channel. It sure helps my videos get noticed and my channel grow.
I hope you all have a great week.

How's she goin'? Thanks Stevo! That wobble wheel is pretty old. I bet I bought that in the 80s. Not sure if they even make them anymore. Doesn't cut great dados, but for this it was just the ticket!! Especially after I made an insert for the saw for it!! LOL Take care!!

Well, now that you have built a dolly to take care of the "gas" next we will expect equal treatment for the "anti-acid"! LOL Now that was a wonderful trick in making that jig for the dado! I think my grandfather would have been envious...he would use one blade and make multiple passes, adjusting the guide with each pass. "Sorry there's going to be more..." LOL We'll be hear with baited breath!! lol Hope your week has been going good.

How's she goin'? Ha Ha Ha!! I wonder if a dolly for antacid would need to be this big!! LOL That dado blade is an old one. Kind of scary looking when it running, but it does cut dados and that's what I was after!! I have cut dados the way you explained your grandfather did. Good old proven work methods never get old!!! Arrf Arrf Otis and take 'er easy!!

@@GrampiesWorkshop If you can't find wide wax paper regular works and another wide option is meat packers paper. It has that slippry/water proof side. It's tougher than wax paper too. Where I worked last time we had a 24 wide bench for glueups and had the meat paper on a hanger (like a TP roll) at the end of the bench so we could get fresh paper to staple down. It was a really busy bench.

Nice rabbits on the platform (I always knew you like furry little animals around the shop). Yes, OSB (oriented strand board) does swell up and make itself irregular in thickness but the 5/8 rabbit fit well. Salut Luc? You know what? When I saw your fuel cart I started thinking about how neat it was to take the fuel to the machine rather than the machine to the fuel. The wheels have been turning ever since!! This dado blade is pretty old. I wouldn't be surprised if they are no longer available. They look lethal eh!! And they don't make a good dado as the cut out is not flat bottomed due to the swing of the blade as it cuts. But for this project I figured it would do the job!! Thanks for watching. How's she goin'? Thanks Noel! I have been thinking about making this cart since I saw Luc's at Orange is my New Green!! I didn't glue the joint for a couple of reasons, one; the OSB was so swollen and starting to delaminate that I figured the glue wouldn't work too good and second; I'm hoping the strength of this base will be provided by the perimeter board and so the OSB will be just held in there and wouldn't be able to move much anyways. We'll see. I wish I knew how this project was going too look. It would make for a simpler build!! LOL Take 'er easy!!
