Using nature to plan a layout has its advantages. Look at tree branches(like in your video) or even the human circulatory system all works on one pump(the heart❤) nature is effortlessly efficient

You can click and drag when upgrading the roads to do it in one go. Idk if you know that but little tips if you didn't. :)

If the stone area is big enough there are massive machines. Same for the forest area they have 2 different machines. Your areas are probably too small.
