This is a marvelous tutorial, and it was so helpful, answering so many questions. I'm almost 90 so I've waited a long time to begin learning to machine quilt. Double C is perfect for a beginner and beautiful enough for an advanced quilter. Thank you so very much. Now-- on to making quilts for all the children, grands, and greats!!

I have a Handi Quilter Avante longarm which is a wonderful machine. I have Pro Stitcher computerized option I use often, but have wanted to do some freehand quilting. Your tutorial is great and I have practiced on old bed sheets purchased at Goodwill. I love that I can practice "without guilt" on old fabric. The muscle/brain memory repetitiveness really does work. Thanks for being YOU!

Awesome. In addition to the C, was working in quarters/sections, and pulling the back thread to the top. Geez, seems so obvious now. TY.

The great thing about this pattern is it gives you a sharp angle place to stop and readjust your hands or review in which direction you want to move next, etc. A smooth pattern like stippling shows every spot where you stopped.

Love this tutorial. Thanks Laura! I have used the double c on two quilts. I practiced with quilt blocks first. They came out really nice. It's not difficult, I had to fund a speed that was comfortable for me and it worked up pretty fast .

I did this after you showed it on a previous video? It looks great as an all over and was easy - this video shows a lot more detail which is wonderful. I think those red lights on your machine would confuse me, but I guess you'd get used to it. Love your grippy circles idea. I'm doing a Christmas wall hanging right now which would be easier to use those on instead of gloves as I have to start and stop to break thread often. Thanks!! 🇨🇦

Thank you for this FMQ tutorial. Would love to see you quilting a larger quilt on a domestic machine. I mostly quilt lap or twin size and it's cumbersome enough doing SITD or wavy lines so I'm afraid to even try free motion.

Your showing us with us facing as if sitting in a classroom. It would be a lot more helpful for the camera to be behind you so we could see the movement as if we were doing it. Like a person looking over your shoulder. Everyone learns differently. Not all of us are on computers some of us are on phones with small screens.
