I love that Richard is one of the only fishermen out there that will break it all down as much as he possibly can with the time that he has in his videos too show us all exactly what we need to do in order to become better and more successful fisherman. But, what I love the most is that he is a fisher of men. Not only is this the best fishing channel on KZbin, but it is the only one that I subscribed to. Not saying there aren’t many other good ones, but for me personally I find everything I need in his. Hey y’all WHOO! Thank you Richard Gene.

Richard, I have to sincerely thank you. I just suffered through a 5 week bout of Covid. It actually was a bout that lasted three weeks and a relapse of another two. For a month of that time I had breathing issues, great difficulty getting a deep breath and constantly fighting to do so. During this time I spent many a night binge watching your channel. Doing so distracted and entertained me and helped get my mind of my difficulties. So, thank you, from the very bottom of my heart. You provide an amazing amount of information and you do it in an entertaining way. But you provide us with far more than that and I hope you know how much you're appreciated. God bless you and all you hold dear.

Richard I have found a line smaller in diameter than most of the Power Pro 8lb braid. The Japanese make a line that is half the size and twice as strong in most cases. The size that I use is .6 goh for crappie. Sense I’ve started using that I’ve noticed that I get more bites. Not sure why that is. But it has been working.

During colder months, water temperature is key. Warmer water means more and more active forage and therefore fish. During winter and early spring in the northern hemisphere, the north shore receives more sun exposure, which warms the shallows; especially in dark-bottom areas.

Will be fishing with them next month on Kentucky Lake! I also tie hair jigs too marabou and neck hackle . I pull them out from the back of the boat, depending on the wind and following the shad ! Thanks for sharing your expertise on crappie fishing early Spring.

Richard, let me tell you about the best Croppie fishing trip I ever had the other day, and I wasn’t even going Croppie fishing. I took my kids fishing for channel cats off of the boat dock on Cedar Creek Lake. We were fishing with red worms live. We were casting them out as far as we could fishing on the bottom, and we was not doing very good. We had only got two. Well, I put a fresh worm on and dipped it down in the water right by my feet at the boat dock to get the dirt off of the worm before I cast, and a huge crappy come up and got the worm. So I started fishing right under the boat dock I was standing on with those worms and caught a massive slab Crappie for an hour straight .
