That 5lbs fire extinguisher isn't enough. Have you tried these? You have like 3.5 sec of powder in these, it's only good for like trash can fire. Definately get a bigger one, especially since your future stove stands between your bed and the exit. Have you seen what happened to James Aloffs tent a few months ago?😬 Also always keep a knife at hand reach during the night. No, not for bears but to carve a hole in a side of the tent in case of fire. I speak by experience here, happened to me while in Great North, my tent caught fire and the fire was blocking the exit. 😅

I have seen plenty of videos that take place in Alaska, and I’m sure you know just how much snow and how cold it gets. So, my suggestion is that you build a small cabin and insulate it, and put a woodstove. Unless you put some kind of a structure above and covering the tent, I don’t think it will do too well in an Alaskan winter. Also, I have a feeling that you may need to clear a few more trees to protect yourself from any of them falling on your living quarters. Everything is worse in the winter, when snow and ice pile up. I love these type of videos, so, looking forward to future ones. Hopefully you’ll be able to post at least once a week. Best of luck! 🙏❤️🌈

Hello there! I’m a cat lady, although I love animals in general. For some reason I don’t think the situation with the cat is arthritis. If it was arthritis, she would still be walking, but maybe very slowly. She seems to have her hind left leg affected, so the idea of a torn ligament makes more sense. Please take good care of the kitty and take her back to the vet if she is not healing fast enough. 🙏❤️😽

Yes I’m concerned about the coming winter, even if he can heat that uninsulated tent. You need to get to stocking some wood to keep that stove going, you will be surprised how much wood you will go through on a negative temp day and no one wants to be scrounging for wood in the dark and cold

I've done a winter in an army tent just outside talkeetna.... Negative 40 to negative 50 but inside the tent was always 80 plus. Wood is a lot easier to get in the winter IF you have a snowmachine. But I would suggest a secondary roof over the tent, it can snow 3 or 4 feet over a night

Hi Sean Paul! I love your videos and your personality! But I’m a little worried about you… The funniest people are often the saddest ones. I know it’s not easy, and you’re going through some stuff, but I know you’re a powerful man. You’ve already done something that most of us don’t have the courage to do! You really need to find a way to get out of your head. Maybe try to build a routine and stick with it no matter what? Do some live streams and talk to us! We’ll make you laugh, you’ll make us laugh, and we’ll keep each other company. When I didn’t have the strength for myself because I was in a really dark place, I fought for my dog and cats. Fight for your you, for your family for your pets, for us!!!! So, try starting a routine that includes cleaning every day. It will help a little with your mood. Have a routine that includes something productive and something fun. You can do it, man! Sending you good vibes, and please hug your cat and dog for me (especially Saoirse in these moments).

Hi Sean Paul, I'm enjoying your videos. I wanted to say that I think the cat has a back injury and the sciatic nerve is compressed. I have lots of experience with spinal injuries. If you can get some form of anti-inflammatory and pain killer into her it would be a big help I'm sure. Good luck on your next stage of building. Replacing the tent with a set of walls and roof on your already built floor would be the quickest way to beat the snow and cold. Take care.
@Lt_TraggАй бұрын
I think you nailed it. I developed the exact same symptoms as kitty, turned out lower vertebrae collapsed on the nerves to my right leg. A cortisone shot into the affected area by neuro-surgeon helped calcify the damaged discs, freeing their grip on my nerves. It took 2 months to heal and get walking back. I’d suggest SP seek out a more qualified vet. But on the other hand she might heal up with rest and time.

Sending love to Saoirse❤. Great “day in my life” video. I was hoping for it. I am sure you have, but look on YT at other people living in tents in snowy climates (Alaska, Canada, Italian Alps), usually because they are building or renovating cabins. Decide what option you can feasibly do in the time you have. Firewood, and keeping it dry, should be the top priority now, and the quickest to achieve. Update us when you can. No pressure.🌲

As long as she isn't in constant pain, animals quickly adapt and are very resilient. I look after a 13year old dachshund who couldn't walk for over a year and was given no chance of recovery. She is getting a little slow and stubborn with age, but she's still walking 'when I am not looking lol' and very happy.😂👍

It's a bit late to get a tiny cabin dried in and insulated before winter. But what about a roof over your tent decking to keep the weight of the snow off your tent, similar to what your building for firewood? You really need a better trailer system and some trail work to even out some of those high spots before you try to traverse those trails with a full cabin-build worth of materials. The first couple years are the hardest and the ones that will live on in your memory the longest. Enjoy the journey.

Thoughts that may help: Plan your build with the length of your current trailer in mind, pretty sure the Metal Magic team would cut the roofing iron a manageable length. A roof and basic walls around and over the tent would be the bare minimum for the first winter. Snowshoes or skis may be good. Does your quard come with a snowmobile kit? Take the time to see what berries you have on your place, berring is a nice change of pace if the building isn't going right, you could take Soereca in a backpack too. Good luck Sean Paul and enjoy your new home.

Yay! So good to see you again! So sorry about the kitty, let’s hope she has a speedy recovery, I don’t think it’s arthritis to come on so fast and so debilitating but as long as she’s toileting ok and eating and drinking, they are good signs. You REALLY need a bigger fire extinguisher, in fact 2 of them as a matter of urgency! I totally understand about getting in a funk, I’ve been suffering from anxiety, depression and PTSD for quite a few years now and it does affect your “housekeeping skills” it’s hard to have the enthusiasm to do ANYTHING! But, a small tent chores list every morning, pick 3 things to get done, no more than that otherwise you’ll overload yourself and won’t do anything, believe me, I know, I’m trying to get out of my funk right now, my house is a mess, I want to do it but just can’t seem to get myself moving, also I have disabilities that don’t help! You really need to get some sort of structure around the tent to help in the winter as a matter of urgency even if it’s just temporary with wooden hardboard double layered with some insulation in between the layers and sturdy roof, also if you can afford it, maybe just buy a few loads of logs in for this winter to take the pressure off of you? I love your videos but getting proper shelter is way more important right now, just give us maybe a short each week and say a proper video once a month to update us? Take care and be safe!

Really like your bush dishwasher. A 55 gal drum /large tote and a plunger will make a bush clothes washer if you tire of driving to a laundromat. If you cat landed wrong the ligament would be more likely the problem. Arthritis doesn’t generally come on suddenly or last a long time. Some tick bites can cause paralysis and I don’t know if the vet looked for something like that.

You WILL absolutely need a large woodstove if you stay in that tent and lots of wood. When we built our cabin it was in the minus 20's by Oct at night. Identify and look for the abundant high bush cranberries that grow there as well and you can keep your vit c up and make some great juice and snacks...etc...It gets COLD there but it is a dry cold, nonetheless, if you can manage a small cabin to sleep in at the very least I sincerely recommend it lol....I had bad arthritis there in my back from the breaks I suffered which was one of the reasons we moved. Now , I wish we hadn't sometimes. Good luck and stay warm...
