Thank you! I really liked the first wrappers I sold and was really disappointed that I lost my HDPE supplier. The price of raw materials got out of hand and I had to stop making them. I always keep a list of things that could be improved upon with things I make and I tried to address as many of them as I could with this new version. The ability of the thread carriage to slide under the blank supports on these new ones really opens the possibility of using a much longer length of hand wrapper. These will be able to be used in whatever length someone would like to use depending on the space they have available if someone were to buy extra blank supports. A 10 foot long hand wrapper would totally be possible with this new set up.

TAKE MY MONEY! Can't wait to try this new wrapper. I use the former model to do all my hand work and could not be happier. If yu say this is better, I'm in!

I like it better for sure. The first one was good and I’m happy that so many people enjoyed them. I just kept notes on things I would do differently if I ever designed another one. I’m glad my hand got forced a bit and I had to go a different direction. Both will wrap a rod just fine, but I do like this one better.

Hi! I am (I think LOL) but I haven’t looked much at rod building stuff on Facebook lately because I’ve been pretty busy.

Not at all. It actually makes it much easier to get good quality wraps done. My original wrapper made getting good quality wraps easy for anyone but I played around with different adjustments on the thread guide on the front of the thread carriage on this new wrapper and have it set up on an angle that really makes it even easier to get the thread to walk itself up the rod blank stacking neatly against itself. It also makes the point of contact of the thread laying down on the blank easier to see whether you are standing up using it or sitting down. I know that sounds like such a minor detail, but the viewing angle really makes quite a bit of difference. On my original wrapper, the viewing angle was quite a bit lower on the blank which was just fine from a seated position but harder to see from a standing position. That viewing angle is one of the few improvements I took into consideration when designing this new wrapper. I moved the front thread guide further away from the blank. I also moved that front guide closer in height to the blank. Now the point of contact between the thread and the blank is about 45 degrees from the center of the blank which makes it easy to see from a standing or seated position. If you look at the picture about 18 seconds into the video, you can see that viewing angle. If you were to draw an imaginary straight line from the center of the rod blank that runs parallel to the work table you are using under this wrapper and then draw a line generating from the center of the rod blank at a 45 degree angle to that imaginary line that runs parallel to the work surface, it would intersect the blank at the halfway point almost exactly halfway between the optimal side viewing angle and top viewing angle which makes the thread/blank contact point equally easy to see from above the rod blank or from the side. Very small details like this don’t sound like a huge deal, but when dozens of very small details are taken into consideration you end up with a product that makes the whole wrapping experience easier to do. These subtle improvements aren’t a necessity, but they do make the whole wrapping process easier.
