I once spent a summer at my grandmother's (my uncle's mother) house. One day we had friends over, and she was talking about how I'd settled in, and that she's already learned not to disturb me when I close my door in the afternoon. I of course went beet red and protested that I just like to take a nap after lunch. She gave me this wonderfully warm, loving smile, and just said, "Sweetie. I raised a son. I know."
