I love how Phil talks about just attending his church and sitting in the pews as a congregation member. But also, can you imagine being the worship leader knowing Phil Wickham is just chillin a few rows back?

One time Phil came into a Christian coffee house I worked at and a recording of worship from our church was playing. Like a young idiot I was like, “Phil, check this out,” and I skipped back to the track where I was leading his old song “Jesus, Lord of Heaven,” and added, “this is us!” My co-worker was also on the track and she was not happy.

You get used to that kind of thing. I mean… it’s not a show for them anyhow. Your leading them into the presence of God all the same ya know? There may be some nerves, but if your heart is in the right place for why you are on stage, the nerves will quickly fade.

I'm definitely not a songwriter but I've enjoyed listening to this so much. I love praise and worship music and I have to tell you that I have 3 grandsons...Michael 33, Brandon 26 and Ryan 20. Too Good To Not Believe is my anthem for my family. I haven't heard a song of yours Brandon that I haven't loved and many of them make me cry as I worship. Too Good To Not Believe is the one that I will stand behind my couch and it on KZbin on my fire stick TV in the living room and as I'm praising and worshiping I'm crying and praying and claiming these lyrics that God gave you for my grandsons who all have issues that they need deliverance from. You're not my grandson but I'm so proud of you for what you've accomplished and I want you to know that I lift you and your wife and your sons in prayer when I am watching you sing your heart out. I want you and your family to be blessed and I want to make sure God keeps you pure and unstained from the world. I'm sure you touch a lot more people than you realize. I'm 73 and I'm so into whatever you write or sing. If you need an extra Grandma I'm right here LOL. Keep writing and keep singing for God 🙏💙

Graves into Gardens.... I lost my dad earlier this year in March and Graves into Gardens was one of the songs that got me through some deep struggles. To hear the process of the songwriting was amazing. God placed this song in my life at the most perfect time. The day we heard my dad wasn't going to make it, we sat bedside listening to worship songs, through the extensive playlist of songs Graves into Gardens stuck with be w/out me even knowing. The very next day I woke up to "there's nothing better than you" over and over in my head for the next week. The more I listened to The song it was encouragement that I know God would get me through this. I couldn't do it on my own. Fast forward weeks pass and I'm struggling and I'm worshipping in church and praying just in a tough emotional state and talking to God and our worship team began singing this song and my mind and heart started racing because I knew it was a sign from God. That day I heard him say give your heart to me and you will be ok. I made the decision to get baptized that day, and i have never been the same since I gave myself and heart to our Father. God is doing great things through y'all and just wanted to say thank you for your God given talent. You are getting people closer to God one song at a time. God bless!

@@ArdDanielN That they are scripture and therefore inspired by God. I hope you're not trying to compare the psalms to these mens music - most of their music is basically mantras (same verse or chorus repeated over and over again) - widely condemned in the Bible (Matthew 6:7). I would highly recommend watching third adam by Spencer Smith if you want to find out more about this modern Christian music industry, because that's what it is - an industry. It has very little to do with the true worship of God, no matter how much they name drop Jesus in their songs 😊
@ArdDanielN
@ArdDanielN 3 жыл бұрын
@@petersingleton8696 what makes the Psalms scripture? Are any Christian songs today inspired by God? What is a vain reputation and what isn’t? These questions are deeper to answer than merely saying: because the Psalms are in the Bible, only the Psalms of David are inspired, or a vain repetition is repeating the same word or phrase. A deeper analysis is needed to understand these specific questions. No doubt there is a business side of the Christian music industry, and no doubt there are some songs that don’t do a great job of worshiping God. However, I find an additional scripture from the sermon on the mount that must be included in a conversation like this is Matthew 7:15-20. I think it is without question that Christian music today brings people to Christ. I know many of these artists personally and can attest to their fruits both on the stage, in their lyrics, and in their communities. Perhaps there is some glorifying of artists that happen both directly and indirectly, yet does that mean it’s every artist and every song? I write Christian music and I testify that God is very involved in the process. The words and the melodies exist long before an artist ever records them or markets them. Just as many of the Psalms were inspired, many Christian songs today are inspired.

I don't know why I'm singing it ; Like what was I dreaming about for that to happen, but I sure love it. Often I have to go to YT to find the song with all its lyrics cos the song won't leave ..it stays all day. It's so powerful. So be assured, there's power and anointing in your songs, Thankyou. I'm also a spontaneous worshipper, in that I'll start with some songs and then just go off into freestyle words of worship. I can't see for nuts but God loves it so I'm cool.

Thanks, really enjoyed this. It was encouraging to hear your humility (both of you) and your heart for your local church. Bless you both in all that you do, in Jesus name.

If been a sing guitarist on worship teams since 1972 having come out of a rock background. I've written a lot of songs but have finally decided to get in the recording studio and get them recorded. Pulling from many styles and using instruments not often used in contemporary music I hope that my music will be embraced for it's originality and creativity. You guys do inspire me so keep it up! Blessings!!

Amazing video guys! I really took a lot away from this one. As a worship leader and aspiring worship artist, it was great to hear you two talk about leading worship and writing songs. Please make more videos like this! Love just listening to you chat.
