Hey Matt. Bind "Lock/Unlock" on all robotics parts to one key. Locking and unlocking robotics parts prevents the wibbly wobbly's if I remember correctly. Locking a robotic part prevents it from moving robotically, BUT, it rigidifies the joints, so it behaves like a solid single piece. This should prevent the lab from randomly clipping through the shuttle bay during reentry from the G's it pulls. Additionally, you can now turn on same vessel interaction on all components. If you turn this on for the lab, then not only can you lock it down with the lock/unlock setting, but failing that, if the lab still moves around, turning on same vessel interaction will prevent the lab from clipping through the cargo bay when forces are applied. Just some thoughts on workarounds you may find useful in your robotics builds.

@marianandnorbert

revenevan11 a lot of people don’t know this, and that is caused by the fact that ksp has advanced tweakables turned off by default (it can be found in settings in the main menu under the ‘general’ tab, this is something that allows you to control things like fuel flow priorities, toggling rigid attachments, autostrut, and same vessel interactions, and a lot of others that I’m probably forgetting, just because I never play without it anymore, playing without advanced tweakables just feels so restricting, I really don’t know why they have it turned off by default, smh

Hey, Matt! Big fan since 2018! I figured out a little trick with refueling by accident and after seeing all that clicking, I felt it was my moral duty as a fellow ksp player to inform you of this trick. If you click on the tab for resources and click on either liquid fuel or oxidizer, it automatically selects all the fuel tanks with liquid fuel. Same with oxidizer. Hope this helps! What about simply a space station that could go anywhere, refuel there, and keep moving? Maybe you've already done this.. but it's a true space craft to anywhere, in that it could travel the entire Kerbol System as a single continuing mission.. Has to land on a moon to refuel, but then it can move on to the next planet. This has been the ultimate goal for most of my saves.

idea for a video (i don't have discord so i'll just leave it here): what if you where to make a little rover, wich kan hop between plannets? in orbit there is a little craft wich it docks to when in space, it flies to a other planet, it undocks, it lands, does sience, and takes of again. it can refuel on the planets, and an engineer can reset the landing ecuipment. it fits in with the small station theme, and i think it would be fun having this little 2-3 kerbals craft being exposed to the heats of moho, and the icey colds of eeloo. if you like it, like so matt (hopefuly) sees it.

Others mentioned using same vehicle interactions but you can also drop the dampers on robotic parts to increase their rigidity. Also use auto strut set to grandparent when chaining things like pistons and hinges this will strut the parts to each other and not the main part of the craft. Also lowering the traverse rate will help this but will deploy the parts slower. Cranes don’t move that fast to prevent wobble.

Whacking a space station into a spaceplane to me sounds pretty much like the gist of the Spacelab module that they put in the cargo bay of the Space Shuttle, Spacelab was more or less meant to be used as a replacement for Skylab, since it was a similar size compared to the internal volume of the tank sized habitable space inside the modified S-IVB stage that Skylab was built from

Also, it would be fun to have some kind of a failure bar where you choose a percentage and some parts of your craft would unexpectedly fail
@quentinlynch2492

I think that would be cool but for some craft or people it would be good to be able to turn off. Imagine stratenzblitz’s crafts just falling apart

@@quentinlynch2492 Yeah that's why people would have a bar, they can choose 0% or 4% failure in the Custom option of a save.

For the first fifteen years of the shuttle program, the shuttle actually functioned as a space station that was brought back after every mission, particularly when the SpaceHab module was attached at the front of the cargo bay. So, this really isn't that farfetched.

8:40 I think you mean angle of climb, not angle of attack^^ The angle of climb is basically the angle between your prograde marker and the equator on the navball, while the angle of attack would be the angle between your prograde marker and your current orientation.

How about you make a space station similar to Interstellar's Endurance, that travels around the solar system and has some landers?

One thing that might help with your landings and stuff if you want it is from KerbalEngineer. If you open up it's Landing UI you can enable a marker that shows you where you will land. This accounts for the planets Rotation and stuff and it's quite useful from my use of it.

When you get older and (if) your voice gets rougher, you are going to have the BEST accent ever. If you aren't doing youtube by that point, you could narrate audiobooks. If this sounds weird, it's because I wrote it at 4 am without any sleep. I'm a bit tired.

Lore! :) I haven't yet got enough designs to classify them on the same level, but I'm getting there. As I design different ships, themes are emerging. It's kind-of fun in itself now I think about it. I don't know if it'll ever get to the scale of worldbuilding I used to do, but it's nice. Ooh! I'd forgotten about the truck. :D I recently made an SSTO which had to climb to 4500m then dive back down to 1000m to pass the 450m/s barrier. It had only 1 RAPIER to save weight, but it also had a NERV, a lot of fuel, and a lot of drag. Then I took off the outboard Mk0 tanks and all the wings, (Big-S deltas and a few of the wing-boards,) replaced them with Big-S strakes, and it got through 450m/s on a climb. I'm sort-of wondering if the Big-S strakes constitute an aerodynamic exploit all on their own! XD If you connect docking ports in the SPH, they're not docked in quite the normal way. When you undock them, because they weren't docked in the normal way there's nothing to stop them instantaneously reconnecting. It'll only happen once per flight and you can just undock them again.

Could you do a film like 'Green Harvest' but the plot is that it's just a film about exploring a Planet. Duna or Eve would be cool. It could be a series too.

Wait what? I thought that was a space station and not a modified SSTO but still this is way better than any of my crafts. Maybe you could've decoupled the space station and then "removed" the plane vertically towards the planet with the rsc thrusters you put on the plane.
