I am so grateful for this opportunity to have been able to interview David Millum and Julia and get their insights about the Culver Archaeological Project! To have been able to bring to people the site that was my first excavation and also the birthplace of Speaking Archaeologically is surreal!

It is wonderful to hear about archaeological excavation and post excavation findings/analysis directly from an archaeological field. Thankyou for bringing up the video along with the interviews

This is really interesting. Involving the community, whether it be the local community or the academic community helps connect with the roots on the one hand and at the same time, hands on experience is perhaps the quickest way to learn. I love how transparent the process is made by the Culver Archaeological Project, which also helps the global community connect, interact and engage with the the project. At the same time, it was great knowing about the nitty-gritties of the entire excavation, and how it's actually done, starting from the field excavation to what goes on post-excavation (drying, measuring, sorting and weighing processes). Not only that, but a clear insight into the publishing process and how long and detailed it actually is, with the multiple phases is also very interesting to know.

Mr. Millum has laid rightful emphasis on encouraging the wider academic circle to comment, discuss and question the reports and papers published by the Culver project. Community archaeological projects depend on not just labour of the volunteers but also on critical discussion among academicians on the historical relevance of the site.

It is so interesting how the process of excavation, analysis of the artefacts and research works. Even more exciting is to know that such an amazing project brought together the start of Speaking Archaeologically group!

Thank you for briefing on the project's process, finds and goals. As a non-archaeologist professional, I find it fascinating to know how much goes into investigating and converting a piece of land into an archaeological site.

A very interesting and insightful video which discussed the nuances of how an excavation is carried out, from the beginning till the end when a report is brought out. It highlighted how anyone from the community can be a part of the excavation process and need not necessarily be an archaeologist to excavate. Being from an archaeology background it reminded me of my experience of being part of an excavation. Furthermore something new that I learnt from this video was about the labelling of the artefacts, something which I haven't had the opportunity of doing myself. It was also lovely to get to know that this project was what led to the birth of Speaking Archaeologically!
