Former WHM main, SGE was 6head to me until I “leveled” through it. Do dungeons in 5 level increments, and set up your bar as you go “unlocking” the new skills. Now it feels completely natural, and WHM feels weird.

A little late to the party, but I do want to point out that Toxikon II has very limited use in raids and trials, but in dungeons it's actually quite useful. When a tank is wall-pulling, you only have one charge of Icarus, and the tank is probably sprinting, so you're not going to be doing much damage in that time. shooting a shield on the tank before they start pulling, and then before they reach the second pack, can actually generate some addersting at no DPS loss, allowing you to *utterly fucking nuke* the enemies in a display of AoE damage that leaves even caster DPS in the dust a lot of the time. As for the MP regeneration, I tend to default to Kerachole over throwing out random heals, because it has a pretty short cooldown and a damage mitigation is always helpful!

Raid design being what it is is definitely a response to fans, at least partially. When I got into raiding in Shadowbringers, I'd hear so many complaints about certain fights not letting you keep uptime. Now we realize that bosses that expect you to lose damage here and there is kind of a good thing.

Sage feels a lot better to play for me. On the dps side, I wish they had kept the DoT-spread mechanic for SCH AoE instead of the most boring spell in the entire game, Art of War. You could even keep the name and it would make more sense, something is being divided :P

Speaking of ground targeting, I feel like it's the biggest example I've seen in a game of the default setting ruining a function. I have it set where the targeting won't go past the max and I can just mash the key to cast, and now it's great, but the default where you have to finagle the range to find max and then break flow to left click is just annoying

True. There would be a time I'd disagree, and part of me wants to scream: "But Criterion Dungeons!!!!!" But I can't even do that because it was such a disaster on the reward end. Even content like Relics become nothing more than 1hr content, when Relics are supposed to be Grindy. I hate to say it, but I miss Stormblood Era....at least there the game still felt like a MMORPG to an extent. Now it's just a Social Hub like PS Home or VRChat

Sage is basically the Devs confirming they could rework Healers into what vet healers want, but they're not and they tease us with this watered down version of what could be. Edit: I was so hyped for Sage, until I saw the toolkit and played it in high-end content. Seeing as AST is completely dead to me at this point, because Why learn a job that's gonna be reworked every expansion. Hot Take: "4.X AST was the best iteration of AST." Anyways, since I was highly disappointed in the devs with Sage and ASTv3.0, I was left with picking up a real job....SCH. lol

Something I think worth mentioning is that Sage (I don't know if Scholar plays like this) has a built in reward system for shielding right before damage is dealt, which I think is a good direction to lead healers in, at least shield healers, for the future: encourage good shield timing.
