I know you hear this all the time, but I do feel like I just ran into a long lost friend. In the world we live in, it is comforting to hear your gentle way of talking and just chatting. I believe it is difficult sometimes for older women to find that one friend that gets who you are. I get that feeling when I watch your videos. When one has been a wife and mother while having to work full time there is not much time to develop friendships outside of your daily life, and so when we reach our old age it is difficult to forge those friendships. What I tell younger women who get so busy about life that they need to be sure to not exclude girlfriends as they will be a treasure in their later years. Anyway Kate, thank you for sharing your time and talent with us. You are truly a gem.

February 3 2024 Maryland USA: Put so well. So difficult when especially for myself, serving in the US Army for twenty years and going into a war zone for some time plus at the time my children were 13 years old, 3 years old and a baby at 4 months. We were living in Germany so my brother in law flew over to bring my children back to the USA. Then retiring they were still little and one in high school so again the demands were great and social connection with an authentic friend was so rare. I do have 5 ladies we see each other every year at a retreat or forum. We are so appreciative of where they other is. But here with Kate I have been following her for several months with Anna’s journey in quilt making and yes the lime green sofa is the best part of my day.

OMG I have found a kindred spirit. I once had a fetish for lime green. All of my clothes were that color. I even painted my claw-foot tub on the bottom with it. I am 80 years old living in Oregon on the coast so I know all about wet. I am surrounded by cranberry farms and cats. I have 25 wild turkeys that show up every dayi. They roost in tall trees around my very old house. I am going to pull out all of my stash of bits and pieces of cloth and make something to help the pandemic pass thanks to you. Kate~ I believe what you call twisted willow in England, is what we call corkscrew willow in the states. Either way it is a grand tree, that brings peace and happiness and great beauty! When I was a child, my mother showed me a corkscrew willow in our front yard which was a volunteer. Because her and my father fed the birds and reaped the rewards of their "poop"....which spread flower and tree seed.. It was GRAND. GREAT MEMORIES of a romantic, telling tree😍 So thank you for sharing your twisted willow with us all. Bless your hardworking soul🤩🥰 You always cheer us up❣💚💟💚

Recent subscriber here. I've raced through all your old videos while doing a cross stitch that's been under the bed for 16 years (New Year's Resolution: finish or bin unfinished objects!) I sew, knit, crochet, papercraft, make soap, play with beads, etc. and my dad used to keep bees when I was a child, so watching you extract honey makes me very nostalgic. I was pleasantly surprised to note on my binge watch that he and your dad have their birthday in common. And then later on, was a bit mind blown to discover that so did my mum and your mum! Spooky. My grandfather kept bees. When I was a little girl, I wanted to learn how to work with the bees, but he said I was too little, and I could help when I was bigger. But when I was a bigger girl, the bees were gone and I reminded him that he was going to teach me how to work with them. He kept them on the summer cottage property, so he couldn't watch them all the time. He told me that he couldn't keep them through the winter well enough, so he stopped keeping them. 😥

Kate, like a lot of people I found your channel by accident looking for a EPP tutorial. My very first quilt was a grandmother’s flower garden that I made while still in school. That was over thirty years ago. Anyway wanted to make another one and found your channel and found it absolutely lovely and very helpful. So I had to go back and watch from the beginning, so since Dec 2022 I have been sat on the lime green sofa drinking tea, eating chocolate biscuits and making my 1 1/4” Henie quilt watching all your videos. And I have to tell you on every single video there is an advert at the beginning and end of every video. It does not interrupt your video, unless I stop it for whatever reason and start it again later. Then an ad comes on before yours starts up again. I am still playing catch up still a year left to watch. But I will be current soon, take care….

We make a similar snack, tipically for children , here in Italy, '' salame di cioccolato'' . It's rolled in parchment paper like a sausage and put in the fridge. You then slice it like a salame !
@Stoffmonster4673 жыл бұрын
Like a "cold dog", a mix of chocolate, coconut grease and cookies in a bread pan?
@elenabello1383 жыл бұрын
@@Stoffmonster467 , It is made with : 100 grams of butter or margarine, 100 grams of sugar ( I would put less nowdays ) 50 grams of cocoa powder , 200 grams of simple biscuits ( lighter than Digestive ) crushed as Kate did , 2 egg yolks ( I wouldn't use them raw nowdays ) . You put all this mixture in a parchment paper and you make a sort of big sausage ( the diameter of a can of a soda ). After 2 or 3 hours in the fridge, you can cut the slices like a '' salame '' wich is an Italian charcuterie. This is my mother recipe, directly from the Seventies , when I was a child . I don't think is as popular now as It used to be. It was a simple snack for children to be eaten in the afternoon. Elena

For example today, what you call twisted willow, we call curly willow. There have been years--not this one--when I've had a dry vase of willow during Lent. I still have my goat Fred who has been with me since the first year I moved to Washington. (2015) I love this guy...he is a hoot!

This lime green sofa is so cozy with all the friends.. I do not know if it is allowed but I brought my cat along with me and she is sitting next to me as I hug this soft fluffy pillow, my stocking feet are a little chilly so I grabbed your little quilt you have thrown over the back of the sofa and put it over me as I have my feet tucked underneath me and my kitty is snuggled on top. Now waiting for the treats to be passed down to me.. Hugs and blessings to you

I don't think I've seen a video with adverts. Which is one of the reasons I love watching them. Thank you, Kate, it makes such a difference to enjoy your talks. Imagine a friend having a chat with you and stopping every ten minutes to show you an advert on their phone... Sponsored friendship...😀but if you want to introduce interesting/ relevant products to us by presenting them yourself so you can continue your wonderful channel, that would be lovely! Like when a friend tells you about something useful or wonderful they have just bought or have been using for ages. I'm sure there a lot of sewing/ craft companies that are queuing up to sponsor your channel. You deserve the best. Thank you for a lovely chat on your sofa. (I brought my little poodle Totoro, but don't worry, he's an angel, he loves everybody, including cats❤️)

Hello Kate the Tiffin looks delicious 😊. Talking about cats, 3 years ago are cat had to be put to sleep. We were all very sad, then about a month later the weather was hot. We had are back door opened and around the door appeared a little face, it took us by suprise as it was a cat and she looked the same as are cat we had put down. This cat lives a few doors away. She has been popping in most days since. We feel God sent her to ease are sad hearts.

We will remind you when it is October. I'm with Anna, I love white chocolate and it is even better with broken Oreos and peppermint hard candy. You'd be surprised if you dropped into facebook. The ladies are always posting pictures of their handy work. Beautiful things. Far better than what I could do. Is there a reason why you do not like to? I can help if you need it. Great to see Sadie and Norma again. Thanks for the video.

I came across your channel this week. And I cant stop watching. I love your natural friendly presenting style. I just love watching videos of people tinkering around. Your home is beautiful. Your voice is very soothing. I watch your videos while I'm in my craft room attempting to make things. They never turn out right. I have all the gear but no idea. Good morning! I know it's out of date and time but I'm enjoying my morning coffee while watching this video. I do enjoy your videos. I feel as though we are neighbors. I TRULY would love to visit, what an adventure and knowledge we could share. I'm fascinated by your recipe for brownies.Will need to adapt it for USA products. But more so...I do enjoy hearing your dialic of words. I was told the same when I moved from one state to another. My new family members didn't always understand what I was describing or saying. It was TRULY as a learning experience for everyone. Funny at times and even eye brow raising as well. Do ENJOY the lime green sofa idea. We are ALL neighbors. Carry on. Take care.

Hi Kate! I only discovered you two weeks ago, my friend Jacqueline and I have a weekly video chat which has resulted in her teaching me some quilting. So I started to search you tube for starter projects and found your quick log cabin cushion tutorial. Well there’s been no stopping me catching up with your videos. Along with my hobbies they are proving to be a lifesaver, taking my mind off missing my family and friends. Your gentle manner and sense of humour are a tonic, the set up of a mix of chat and video without loud intrusive adverts is perfect. I also love cats, enjoy gardening, baking and various crafts. Thank you so very much. Ruth in Norwich.

I’ve only been watching for about a month. You have renewed my interest in quilting! I have already made 1 quilt top. I have all the squares, paper, fabric pieces and threads ready to make the Scottie dog to match. I’m taking a four hour Amtrak trip to see my granddaughter in NYC, so I’m looking forward to making the 92 squares for the dog while I’m traveling. You are so very talented and I love sitting on the lime green couch. Stay well and God bless you. P. S. One of my favorite shows is Call The Midwife!! Jean
