Good on you for making this and its good info, but I have to say, I'm surprised to see no mention of British colonialism (compared to the emphasis placed on colonialism in your video on East Timor). I know you like these videos on the shorter side, but I think it would have been an important addition. The extortionate head tax levied on locals by the British led to massive social problems, and even to the killing of Willam Bell and subsequent Malaita massacre. And Malaita being relatively overpopulated and underdeveloped economically in general led to the use of Malaitan labour elsewhere, particularly on Guadalcanal, which was the main cause of the violence in 1998.
