I think PCC's still have a place as modern cowboy one caliber for pistol and carbine set up or babies first rifle after buying first pistol...but yeah, the recent supply issues have obliterated the cost effectiveness of PCC's VS rifle carbines. I think as Calibros, our only real option off the shelf is the Ruger PCC or having featureless AR-15 PCC's. Would love to have a PTR MP5 Clone for style points alone, but if I'm going to do it, I'm not going to have it Calicucked. I'd have to move out of CA to have my dreams no longer be memes.

I used a drill bit to deepen the magpul safety selector detents. You can do it gently by hand. You only need 4 or 5 rotations and it will deepen the detents so that you have a more positive safety/ fire selector. Don't chuck it in a drill, just rotate the drill bit by hand a little at a time until you're happy.

Thanks for all the effort. I've bought a PTR 9KT and was thinking about a folding brace like yours, but I'm not really happy with it on my Stribog. I then was looking at the pic rail at the back end, but I was hesitant because of the problems you showed with the SB tactical folding braces that kept collapsing under recoil. Then I found the Midwest Industries brace tubes that attach to pic rails. It has a folding and non-folding version, but most importantly it attaches more securely and spreads over a wider area than the SB hinge does. I went with the non-folding version because I had no real need for a folder. It's very stable and you can raise or lower the tube on the pic rail to match the cheek weld you want.

My solution for getting both a light and IR on my MP5 was to replace the front handguard pin with picatinny rail adapter and slap on a Streamlight TLR-VIR II. I have a PTR-9CT. And yes, after putting meprolight Tritium front and rear sights, I dremeled a V cut into the front ring . I then bought a POF MP5 HK33 green lower with selector and dremeled it to fit as well. JB weld to reinforce the front. I then dropped in a Franklin trigger pack. I also added a Moore Advanced Dynamics (M.A.D.) Moore Advanced X-tractor (M.A.X) for the drop-in bolt head. Added a MI rail with a MagPul AFG-2, and topped it with a Trij MRO and GG&G QR mount. At the front of the MI bottom rail, I have Lasermax green Spartan laser/light. SB Tactical brace and KCI mags. I also have a couple HK drums and a CGS group qube that I can don very quickly. This is my gray backpack firepower load out, when I have to go gray, and step outside the fence. A Ferro Concepts Slingster or Spector 2 point keeps it balanced, along with an SB Tact HK PDW Adjustable Pistol Brace. YMMV.

Did you ever have trouble with the mags seating in the mag well... When I got my PTR I would have to really shove them very hard Into that mag well in order for them to hit the mag catch and lock in. Frustrated and after a pint of whiskie I took my dremal to the inside of the mag well and now they slide very easy. There is some play now they wobble a little but as long as it doesn't affect the function of the weapon it really doesn't matter to me.

Very nice. I just wish PCCs and PDWs weren't an arm and leg, it makes it hard to justify buying one over a short barrel rifle caliber flavor. Unless you've got something nice like a FRT trigger to speed up the fire rate in close quarters, I don't see PCCs/PDWs gaining enough traction for civilian use. Maybe home defense, but even then 5.56 and .223 have been shown to be safe to use indoors compared to 9mm.
