I know this is an old comment but I can say the same. I tell all my friends if they’re not watching videos outside of class they’re screwing up. And I always suggest Grappling Academy. This is my favorite Channel by far.

I was getting my butt kicked today in gi class. My buddy told me quit trying to win and just focus on one technique that I want to master and attack it until I get it. I decided I want to start hunting kimura because it’s something I’ve struggled to finish. I’ll be trying this technique starting tomorrow.

I just wanted to say thanks for your videos and thanks for this move. I watched the video a couple times last night and was able to hit it live today sparring against one of my training partners who is on the MMA team. Kimura is one of my favorite submissions. This works great when the guy is holding on tight and defending the Kimura. I love moves like this that are straight forward, easy to master and highly effective! Thanks Coach Tom!

I found this technique through some catch wrestling instruction. I use this variation all the time but usually from the Kimura position where your opponent is on their side with your knees around their head and they are holding their belt and arm. Works everytime. Great video. There are other arm weave variations like this for the Americana as well.

Another home run of information/technique. Too AWESOME. You continue to explain things clearly and detailed. And it's a norm now, for me, to get up and check my account, first thing, every morning, just to see if you've posted another AWESOME video. It's like you're my personal teacher, from afar, lol. Thanks! :)

I got my first sub with this last night! Mind you, nobody is trying to kill the new guy on his second week, but I'm still excited. I didn't do it quite right though, so it ended up being more of a tricky armericana over the head than a kimura, but once I had that grip on, I just kept walking around the guy until his shoulder was taught. I forgot about the hip position and the counter rotation and so forth, so we did a roll in the process, but just the fact of the grip strength this gives let me get a tap without any wrenching.

its not gonna work on even a decent white belt. you arent addressing the right arm at all. a real opponent will either frame on your hip or just raise their arm in the air so that you cant go to north south leaving you stuck holding nothing.
