Just for people who don't know, that transformation is a reference to "Sun Wukong" or "the monkey god" from the actual mythology Goku comes from. Both with his staff and tail in the past. Also Sun Wukong had the ability to share knowledge with beings so that's why Vegeta was able to use "Kamehameha" in the end when they had a contact(you can see something coming to Vegeta's body when they touch hands). Yeah that's a really orginal idea even for now, props to the animator and writers as always

I think what Goku shared there was energy, enough for Vegeta to go super saiyan. The director/main animator of Studio Stray Dog did an interview and said Vegeta knows the Kamehameha outright because he's a time traveler.

Even as an alternate take on DBZ, this is still very in line with the origins of dragon Ball and the original inspiration for Goku: Sun Wukong the monkey king. His entire race is literally a bunch of people with monkey tails that turn into monkeys. You need to look up Journey to the West or at least understand that a huge amount of Asian media takes inspiration from that piece of work, evenDbz
