This movie is an arc in the manga, it got reverse adapted and falls after Moro/Granolah arc. Most of the first part is Goten-Trunks school shenanigans, the middle is the film itself and the end of the arc has stuff after this movie like Beast Gohan testing his strength on Beerus' planet vs Broly/UI Goku which is the last chapter Toriyama contributed to before his death.

@@dreadhead9k965 They did not do the same thing with Broly, Broly is established in the movie to be a rare mutation just like Kale, who powers up based on Anger, and unlike Gohan, Broly doesn't even keep his power, nor can he control himself while enraged. Broly is now in the manga actively putting in work to overcome the weaknesses of the form, and is actively training on Beerus' planet so that he can properly utilize his potential. Gohan though? Read books about ants for half his life and is just handed constant power boosts whenever the story sees fit. He doesn't even need to train Beast, he is just off rip able to square up against MUI Goku with zero problem after damn near zero training. They are not the same

apparently the movie when it was made, the manga for it never passed and usually they would anime things that are made from the manga to give that kind of adaptation to the anime. So it definitely happens past Moro, and the other arcs (idk about black Frieza arc but it's way past some of the new arcs that are yet to be animated) and I think a couple months ago, that's when the arc of the super hero movie was going to be drawn in the manga so I thought that was interesting lol.

Gohan likely got glasses because of his excessive childhood studies. Excessive near work, without breaks inbetween that work, will make a person nearsighted. Near work being things that involve you seeing stuff really up close (reading books, writing, computer work, etc.) What causes that is this: When we're growing up our bodies are constantly developing until we reach maturity. One of the things that's changing during this time is our eyes. It doesn't finish developing until we're around age 25. When our eyes look at an object, they will adjust for the distance so that we can clearly see that object. It does this by reshaping itself. If a person looks at things from a variety of distances, their eyes will stay in a shape where it can see things clearly from a variety of distances. However, if a person spends an excessive amount of time only looking at things from close up, their eyes will go into a shape where it can view that close up object. If a person is still growing, and only looking at things from up close, their eyes will shape itself to permanently stay in that position, making the person's ability to see things from far away worse. When Gohan was going through the Saiyan, Namak, and Android arcs he was seeing things from a variety of distances so his eyes stayed in the right shape. However, the moment all of that fighting ended and started focusing exclusively on his studies he became nearsighted.

Put a lot of his life energy into the dragon balls over the years, every reforming or changing cost power, and when Dende took over, the dragon no longer used Kami's energy, he used dende's, so when the dragon drew out his latent abilities, he also gave back all that power, hence "and a bit more"

I kind like Bulky Piccolo. Like yes he's always been a more tricky cerebral character, but I like that it's something different. I'd honestly like to see him get an alternate form that is just as strong but is faster or something so he has the option to become really tank if need be or could go for a more agile strategy, give him some flexibility and it would work perfectly with Piccolo's intelligent support role.

I don't like Gohan beast as a transformation basically because it's literally a rehash of ssj2 teen Gohan, but exaggerated. I don't mind him having the power, but the design and how he attains it suck. Orange piccolo, however, is dope af to me. Sure, it sounds cheesy that he got it by making a wish on shenron, but considering the gap he had to overcome, the fact that he is ALWAYS training (but with the God gap, it's almost fruitless), and, most importantly, his history, it makes sense. Piccolo is a merged namekian consisting of the strongest native namekian of the warrior clan in Nail, a deity of the dragon clan in Kami (who has a deep connection to shenron), and the reincarnation of the demon king Piccolo. He's literally touched all planes of both God hood and his heritage. Shenron being the catalyst to unlock his latent potential is similar to his version of Guru giving him the ultimate form. I don't mind the bulkiness too much because it looks like he's channeling dragon power.

Yeah scru is just objectively wrong here lol. Both of theirs was earned. Beast was always connected through his anger as well as his potential. It's even explained in the statements for the movies and it's explained more in the recent manga chapter. Orange Piccolo is connected through his namekian heritage as well as being the former kami hence why shenron says "an added bonus" to his new powers. Also, hating the cell max fight because it's a kaiju fight is pretty dumb imo because what's the point in using hand to hand if the kaiju is too big and agile? Not to mention they both have trained for it. Gohan in the anime and manga have hinted a new power. In the anime where he fights goku, he says he wants to go beyond his ultimate form. In the manga, he confirms he's been training in the goku black arc using the gravity room AND during his fight with kefla, he states he doesn't want to rely on his saiyan powers. This is the perfect opportunity to tell scru to just rewatch and reread everything because it feels a lot of bias against super as well as constant misinformation
