The joy in Ortho's voice when he says "salt bro?!" 😁
@jameson86822 жыл бұрын
Can you explain that because I didn't get it (not a medical person)
@katesampleseverything2 жыл бұрын
@@jameson8682 Yeah! Ortho is the bone surgeon and in past videos has been made fun of for not being as smart as everyone else. He refers to his colleagues as "bro" + a simplified nickname for whatever their discipline is. "Salt bro" is the nephrologist, or the kidney doctor. The kidneys are very important filters/regulators for salt and water within the body. Nephrology tends to project himself as one of the more brilliant disciplines as the kidneys and kidney diseases can get pretty complicated and he considers bones fairly basic (they're not, they're just less complex than kidneys).
@jameson86822 жыл бұрын
@@katesampleseverything You're awesome, thank you! I was so confused, I had no idea that nephrology was about kidneys. Not even gonna lie to you, I thought nephrology was that thing where old timey doctors would measure your skull shape to see how much cocaine you needed to cure your schizophrenia 😂
@katesampleseverything2 жыл бұрын
@@jameson8682 🤣🤣 I don't know the name for that procedure, but I'm glad it's not a thing anymore! Although, did you know that hospitals still use medical grade cocaine as a topical (meaning they put it on top of the skin, there is no injection or ingesting) anesthetic and to reduce blood flow (it's called vasoconstricion)?! Similar topical drugs would be lidocaine and novacaine, which are chemical derivatives of cocaine, but not as potent! And you're absolutely welcome 🙂
