It's so hard because I want to say like gav relax take time for yourself don't pressure yourself to get videos out. However I feel like that would be a bit tone deaf considering this is your livelihood and means to make money. So instead I'll say, amidst the chaos, do something nice for you, even if it's just something small.

to the person who said winter is an issue for exercise motivation: try cozy workouts! i did at home workouts that i make "cozy" for motivation. i turn the lights off, light a candle and put a lamp on, fuzzy socks, a calm show on, very comfortable clothes to workout in, etc. it helped a TON :)

If I can make an unsolicited suggestion, a walking pad is an amazing help with being more active. It has helped me with my mental state, especially when I'm stuck in front of a computer for work meetings for hours on end.

A walking pad can be really great but if you're not into that, my unsolicited advice is to regularly get up and move around. When I'm reading or working at my desk, I often find myself staying in the same position for too long, so I started setting an alarm to force myself to get up and move around for a few minutes. I do a variety of things - stretch, dance to a song, walk around outside or up and down stairs inside. Anything that involves my whole body. It's been really helpful.

8:30 Watching him chop the carrot with the smallest knife while the whole set in frame was kinda funny. But I get it, I also have to hand wash my dishes and will often try to use as few as possible because of that. But it is easier (and sometimes safer) to use a bigger knife for some things.

I always love these behind the scenes types of videos because it really demystifies the whole youtuber thing and honestly it's so relatable! I'm not sure I'd ever want to do this full-time, but I do have so much fun making silly little videos! KZbin sucks about the whole numbers thing, so I have to remind myself that they're made up and don't actually impact the fun I have making a video

Also, instead of getting 2 white boards, you can buy a roll of white glossy vinyl and paste it anywhere, you can make it as big or small as you need and design it exactly as you need! I've got one on my fridge door for food shopping, it's really good! you can use white board pens on it!

I love these videos of yours because it really shows how much work it is to be a full time youtuber and it is absolutely not an "easy job" as some people think. But I didn't know you work over 80 hours a week. That so much, especially with no true days off. I hope in time, you can actually take a true day off frequently!

This was a very insightful blog, Gavin! I love how you just went about your business, doing whatever, and we were along for the ride. I would love to start Booktubing myself. I even have a channel set up and ready to go! But, I would have to do the bulk of the filming/editing/uploading on Sunday, which is my only day off. I work 2 jobs, and have only 1 day to do everything: laundry, errands, cleaning, etc. 😅 There are SO MANY BOOKS I want to talk to people about, and I do when I go into my part-time job (I'm a bookseller), but... I'm afraid it'll be too much. Hmmm... but, you're REALLY motivating me too. And I read over 120 books per year (I'm at 148 now I believe...). I'm stuck!

This video came just in time; I was able to listen/watch while doing my (numerous) loads of laundry for the day. Yay! I think it is so amazing what you do and your dedication to booktube. I wouldn't be very good at it myself because I am a major mood reader and often go into long periods where I'm consuming anything other than books. I also tend not to do much thinking while I read; I'm very basic and usually list my books as "liked it" or "didn't like it" without much other thought. 😅 I'm super excited for all the videos you have coming our way! This was a very inspiring watch! I loved your answer about getting into making booktube videos. It makes a lot of sense as you do really just need to make the videos. I struggle with work/life balance and really need to just start setting timers or draw out a schedule like you were doing, otherwise I'll sit down at 9am to work on things and work straight until 10pm. I know you mentioned a whiteboard calendar, but it won't be big enough... have you considered a paper calendar? Like the desk size with room for notes on the side.
