what...? Marcs entire career is BUILT OFF OF sounding EXACTLY like Freddie Mercury. That's the whole reason he's where he is now lol. Just cause he says he "tries not to sound exactly" like freddy, he's very clearly doing an immitation AND CHANGING his speaking voice to sound even more like him lol. That's why he's never going to be anything but the queen guy, and personally even if I could sing as good as him and sound like freddy, I'm not sure I would want to. That's a fucking nail in your career that will keep you from being able to do ANYTHING else. You will always just be the queen imitator. I don't mean any of this as a knock on him. He's an incredibly talented singer. Maybe one of thee most talented singers I've ever seen. However, it's insane to say he's not deliberately altering his voice to sound as much like freddy as the record. Shit, Marc is even telling the story about how similar his voice is in this video. He even shifts his lower jaw forward to get the same ennunciation as freddy lol. So lets not pretend he's not trying to make his voice the same. That's the whole point of what he does.
@artfulstories Жыл бұрын
@@Southboundpachyderm you COMPLETELY lost me when you say he is changing his speaking voice. He is speaking in lower, gentler tones because he's preserving his voice for the concert ahead that night. At the time of this interview, he was on an arena tour with Christian music legends Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith (they do an annual Christmas music tour and Marc was the special guest this time). Noraly That’s because you were hearing Freddie’s voice. "In the end, the decision was made to work with the live recordings and improve them as much as possible. The only singing by the vocal double that was used are bits for which no recordings of Freddie exist, for example where he sings 'Happy Birthday' to himself at the piano. We are all very picky about technical quality, but you have to balance that against the emotional impact. You want the energy of the original performance. No-one will be sitting in the cinema thinking, 'Oh, my goodness, there's a tiny bit of distortion on the lead vocal.' You just go: 'This is exciting!' In fact, that little bit of distortion adds to the excitement. And also, that concert is so well-known, if you change anything in it, you're going to be nailed to the wall!" (Soundonsound)

Renzo Rodrigues how??. Adam likes Marc! Just bc he sounds like Freddie doesn’t mean he should be in Queen other than Adam! They don’t want a Freddie “replica” they want someone exotic and with their own persona.

@woomy89714 жыл бұрын
I like them both. I think Marc is extremely skilled and could probably listen to him sing all day; however, Adam brings something to new to Queen and I'm sure that's the reason why he toured with them. The band probably doesn't feel comfortable replacing Freddie with a sound-a-like.

Yeees! I used to LOVE his band Downhere. When I saw them live in 2005 my first thought was “man this guy sounds like Freddy Mercury!” I had no idea he sang in Bohemian Rhapsody the movie though. Glad he’s getting some attention. His voice is amazing.

What you all need to know is that Marc's original writing is actually REALLY good! He's an incredible talent outside the vocals too. Piano, guitar, vocals, songwriting... worth checking out.

Well here I am back at this video in wonder. As much as he sang one of my favorite Christian songs("Let me Rediscover You") and my favorite Queen cover artist(sorry Adam Lambert); BUT I think he could be the next Superman; I mean look at the piecing eyes and jawline line alone.

@Jeanette Kejling You mean in slow motion. Q+AL lacks energy, all their music sounds so stale.
@ellenw3913 жыл бұрын
Sounds stale? They are selling out the largest arenas in the world. People who bought tickets for the tour that was canceled due to the virus have been holding on to them and virtually no 1 has returned them. I am so sick of the vitriol pointed at roger and bryan's choice Of who to have out front. It always turns me off to listening to him. And aside from what Queen wants, I just don't see Marc in costumes & having the stage presence to hold an arena in the palm of your hand. It's more than just having a good voice you know!

Marc is a Christian, or WAS. I get he respects Freddie Mercury's voice, but I do pray he does not go all the way down the secular rabbit hole, so to speak. Marc has a BEAUTIFUL voice.
