I've been chatting with Jacques via email since he's discovered my Shopsmith-centered channel, and he mentioned that he is planning on working a Shopsmith back into his shop after a long absence. I had to come back and rewatch this just to conceive of where he might shoe-horn one in! He's truly a special man. Scott

I see a dream shop. It looks to me that this craftsman built his "kingdom" shop over a long period of time. I am in awe at his organzation! Excessive tools? I think not. I experience in my shop redundancies, not because I bought them, but because my loving friends and family use THIER money to buy ME tools on the special days of the year. Why? Because they know I love to work with tools. Do I get rid of them because I already have a few of that particular tool? Of course not, I add it to my inventory and reflect on our relationships when I use my tools. I am grateful for every redundant tool in my shop. I don't know, but I suspect there is a lot of love behind the projects coming out of this shop. I find this shop Inspiring and I appreciate this craftsman sharing it with us. Myrtle Creek, Oregon

I knew I recognized this shop. Around 4,5, or 6 years ago the owner was WOOD magazines "Ultimate Workshop" winner if I'm not mistaken. Of course the prize was .......more tools! That is a tremendous shop. I can't imagine the hours spent putting it all together.

That's one cramped overstocked space. More like a hardware store than a shop.

That place is crazy! How could one person possibly use all those tools? I saw so many multiples of tools - he's got back-ups for his back-ups - back-ups! I would have liked to have seen one of his jar-wheels straight-on. Old timers really love to store things in jars but I've never seen them placed in a spoke and wheel format.

Dear God that is a LIFETIME of collecting and building. Good for him it's a walk out basement. Imagine getting all those heavy machines down/up a set of stairs!! He's got all the toys but I would ask for a little more room. Reminds me of my grandfathers shop. After every operation he would be forced to break down the tool and clean up. He had to, no room otherwise.

Yes, amazingly packed. Being in that space, never mind having to work in it, would be a complete and utter nightmare. Maybe it works for Jacques, but again, I would feel supremely uncomfortable and inconvenienced just trying to walk through the place.

Awesomeness! I bet he has invested a good chunk of money in the tools and organizing them. But I am most impressed with the handiness of the screws, nuts and bolts collection. I bet he has more types and sizes of screws, nuts and bolts than any general hardware store in the America.
