Like every other project you've shown, the design is extremely functional and space saving. Thanks for sharing your ideas to the community.

Thank you, I really appreciate that! I originally found design concept from Alan's Woodworking.

Love it Chris, great solution. I dont have many hand saws but this would be great for my rulers and squares. Cheers mate!

Great video, Chris. And great design as well. Gotta find some super balls, lol.

Thanks, Mark. Grab your quarters and head to the mall...kidding. The design idea came from Alan's Woodworking in c.2016, he did a build video without really showing the details. My 3/4" dowel rollers are working pretty well.

@@benchtopwoodworks it looks like they're doing great. Simple designs usually yield the best outcome in my experience. This is a good one.

Very cool design~! The 5-year old in me demands that I make mine using super balls instead of dowels. :-) Thanks for the video~!

Nice, best of luck Andrew. Would love to hear how it turns out or where you source the balls from.

Is there a top? Seems like the dowel could pop out the top when you insert a saw.
@benchtopwoodworks Жыл бұрын
There is not a top, there's a good bit of travel before anything would fall out, but a top could absolutely be done to make things cleaner. Great tip.

I might try this using corks instead

Great idea, will probably work very well!

bingo bango, thank you for the idea. I have about 500 corks (no kidding, got it from the wine store from their demos), and no dowel that thickness. Brilliant.

DO they fall out? How much clamping power does it have on the saw?
@benchtopwoodworks3 жыл бұрын
I have not had one fall out, clamp force increases with downward force. When I place the saws, I give a quick pull down and they lock in.. one viewer added rubber o- rings to his rollers and several used 3/4" super balls.

Does it have to be 22.5 degree? What about 15 or 10 degree? (75/90)

I'm sure a steeper angle would work fine, there wasn't any major testing or math involved in that choice
