Buddy, in THIS reality passing wedding dresses down to daughters or cousis exists too 😂 Many families does it since wedding dresses are expenssive as hell and you wear them only once so for some people it’s just a waste of money to buy new one every single time. We have three dresses whitch come from generation to generation in my adopted family - they’re in excellent shape, each bride changes or adds something so they’re personalized but the base is still the same.

It was even more common in the past, especially after Queen Victorious popularized the whole concept of a “white wedding” with a fancy white ball gown and a big cake made with refined white sugar. But even then, that was mainly a tradition observed by the nobility and wealthy class, as textiles and clothes were much more expensive than they are now , because while machine sewing and mechanized looms to weave fabric were common, a person still had to cut, assemble, and stitch that garment together. And that’s not even counting embellishments like lace, embroidery, or beading, which would have all been done by hand (and in many cases still is done by hand today in sweatshops where workers earn Pennies an hour for their work). Working class brides wore their Sunday best or had a communal or family gown that was likely adjustable to account for the different measurements and proportions of brides so things could be taken in or let out as needed. White sugar was also more expensive because it required extra processing to get that fine crystal structure. Regular folk would’ve used unprocessed cane sugar, which has a more beige/tan color and bigger grains, or even brown sugar, molasses, or honey to sweeten baked goods as they were cheaper.

The west coasters were divided into chapters and were insular while the east coasters were empire building, actively recruiting outsiders and also focusing on wiping out the mutants and ghouls. It looks like they've united under the eastern doctrine now, which would explain why the NCR is on the backfoot.

That's why the outcasts split, they still held the Western Brotherhood's ideals. It was Maxon that brought the outcasts back into the brotherhood and got them back on task. They're still just a detachment of the same brotherhood as in the west.

Just fyi, the Brotherhood of Steel game isn't canon at all, especially since it contradicts a lot of stuff in the games that came before it. And with Tactics, it's sort of up in the air. It's not *technically* canon, but the other games have canonized bits and pieces of it. One notable example is the Midwestern chapter of the BoS being cut off from the rest.

3:43 October 23rd 2077 is when the bombs dropped, also when this scene takes place. The first Fallout game is set in *2161* so nearly 100 years after the Great War. Fallout 2 is then set in *2241* followed by Fallout set in *2277* exactly 200 years after The Great War. Fallout New Vegas is set in *2281* and finally Fallout 4 is set in *2287*. This TV show is set 219 after the Great War making it 2296 by the events of Lucy leaving the Vault. So 19 years after Fallout 3 and 15 years after Fallout New Vegas. Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 are set on the East Coast so in relation to this show alot of the lore and history comes from the first two games and New Both all three taking place on the West Coast.

The real world reason is that the world of Fallout in 2077 is based on a 1950s-1960s pop culture idea of the future (like Disneyland's Tomorrowland attractions and the Jetsons).

First scene. I knew what was going to happen. We all did. In face, about 60 seconds in I bet if you gave me storyboard I could have given you a shot per shot rundown of what was going to happen and it would have been mostly correct! But, somehow… despite that knowledge and expectation, when it all played out I shuddered, teared up, gasped.. all of it. It was masterclass. I just started today and was going to watch it all before seeking out reactions but I HAD to see at least one of that first scene, and it appears you felt the same! What an opener!

Awesome, Awesome, AWESOME SHOW!!! I'm SOOOOOO looking forward to the rest of y'all's reviews. One of the things I appreciate most about this show is how they established, right off the bat, that Lucy has a wide variety of skills, both in and out of combat. Given that so many shows lately just create a 'BaDaSs GrRrLbOsS' character who's the bestest there ever was at everydamnthing, with no explanation, no backstory, and no common sense, it was genuinely refreshing to SEE Lucy demonstrate her skills, and SEE how she learned them. That being said, I ALSO really appreciate that, when she was fighting Monty in their chamber, she didn't just go all Rey Palpatine and kick his ass, despite the clear difference in their size, strength, and, fight experience. Yes, she fought back, and yes she fought hard, but there's a BIG difference between being TRAINED TO FIGHT, and ACTUALLY BEING A FIGHTER. Monty was a Raider. He probably fought for his life on a weekly, if not daily basis. He was bigger and stronger than Lucy, and he, realistically, was kicking her ass. It was only her quick thinking, and her never giving up, that allowed her to slice and dice him. Incredible scene! Amazing character development!! And a classic example of SHOW, DONT TELL. And that isn't even taking into account all the OTHER amazingness in the episode. :D I am SO GLAD that this show got renewed for a second season. These folks are doing it RIGHT!!

Fallout 3 is an incredible game but 4 is my favorite by far. The open world aspect of it is so much fun

Others already commented how BoS are nationwide, but in Fallout 3, they actually state outright they are a smaller group that's on an extended expedition to the Capitol Wasteland.

But the setting year is the games varies per title. Fallout 3 happens 10 years before Fallout 4 for example, and this series is said to be 9 years after the events of Fallout 4. The BoS may have grown and spread a lot since.

#1 reason I started watching the show is because I missed new reactions from my favorite reactors, and yes you a high on that list. Only this this episode was missing was a rousing chorus of "LPPKS LIKE I HATE IT!"
